Every year, my children’s birthdays seem to sneak up on me. I have one whose birthday is right after New Years, and another who celebrates at Easter time. When I am busy thinking ahead toward large holidays,I’m ashamed to admit that their birthdays catch me by surprise! I love to make an effort to create a birthday that is very special for each of them, but when they sneak up on me like they sometimes do, it can be a challenge! I have found that using pre-designed printables has been my saving grace. It takes seconds to print out a coordinating printable set, and it even takes the work out of deciding on a theme. There are SO MANY gorgeous and fun sets out there that it is easy to find a theme and a set that my child loves. IShare Printables is always my first stop when I am looking for FREE printables of any kind, and birthdays are no different. There are over 75 (and counting) free birthday printables on IShare Printables, and more are being added every day. That is a great resource. Here are a just a few of my recent favorites:

1. Lego Birthday!

Do you know someone, big or small, who loves their lego? Why not hold a lego-themed birthday? I can imagine SO MANY possibilities with this, and to get you started, check out this free printables Lego Birthday set, designed by “Peonies and Poppy Seeds”.

2. Time For A Tea Party!

Whether it’s a birthday, an UNbirthday, or just time for an honest-to-goodness tea party, this set has everything you’ll need. I love how the designers at “Printabelle” include printable bookmarks, banners, and THANK YOU cards so everything has been thought of for you. This will be a tea party to remember!

 3. Construction Party Printables

How adorable is this? I have four daughters and I think THEY would enjoy a party with these printables. Fuel labels for the drinks, adorable (and customizable) tags and labels, and the sweetest chevron patterns make this set from “Vixen Made” a MUST HAVE!

4. Woodland Party Kit

I like the general theme of this “Woodland” set. This would work for any child, boy or girl, and for any season! I mean, how adorable are those printable bunny, fox, and bear ears? This party would be the talk of the neighborhood. So fun!

5. Pirate Party – Arrrr!

My daughter (age six) asked for a Pirate themed birthday, and these printables make it SO EASY! I love AshLee’s fun suggestion to use the printable invite as a “message in a bottle” for a creative, pirate-y invitation. Cute, right? Kids of all ages would have a blast with a party like this!

6. Luau Party

My eldest is turning 13, and she has requested a luau theme for her birthday. Since we live in Canada, and her birthday is in April, we will most likely be bringing the party INDOORS, and creating our own tropical paradise with these printables from Party Planning Center.

7. Rainbow Party

If you are having trouble coming up with a theme, why not go COLORFUL with a rainbow party? Easy to decorate, easy to plan, and easy to pull off with these adorable free printables. Oh, and IF you decide to throw a rainbow party, this “Cakerrific” Rainbow cake is a MUST:

I hope that gives you some inspiration for the next party coming up in your life. Printables really take a lot of the guess work out of party planning, and you can’t beat FREE, right? I like to upload my files to Staples and print through them. It saves you from using up the ink in your printer, and their colors are always crisp, bright, and bold. I love it.
