Shower Love Notes

January 15, 2010 by Shelley

I may or MAY not have had to erase some of our ‘shower love notes’ before taking these pictures. ;) shower-writing1Shower Love Notes make me Smile! This is the funnest way to keep a romance alive. Someone gave me a box of shower crayons for my bridal shower almost 7 years ago {yikes}! -Now, the first thing I do when I hop in the shower is look for a new love note ‘to me: from him’. Sometimes they are just a simple ‘I love you’, sometimes its a note of encouragement, sometimes its a ‘thank you’, and sometimes it just may be suggestive. ;) You get the idea!shower-writing-2What a great and inexpensive Valentines Gift! You can get Crayola BathTub Crayons at  CrayolaStore.com. I used to find them at Walmart, but they’ve been missing lately. I’ve noticed crayola markers there, but they just don’t work the same (they bleed). -BurbMom has a recipe for shower paint that you could also give a try (If you try it, let me know if it ‘writes’ well)!shower-crayonsI always keep several of these on hand in my ‘gift box’ to give out as bridal shower gifts (usually paired with towels, bubble bath, loufas, etc).shower-writing-3And just because we love our readers {and because I have a few extras in my gift box}, anyone who leaves a comment on this post will have a chance to win a box of shower crayons to be given away Saturday morning! Comment away…{we love comments by the way}

****Updated, Thanks for all the comments! They make our day! Random.org selected  Marianne who said “Love love love it! I’ve been thinking of new fun ways to show my husband I love him and this is it! Thanks for sharing.” Because we had so many comments we decided ‘our readers rock’... so here is a SECOND winner….Congratulations to Esther who said, “This sounds like such a fun, cute idea! Even for some of us “oldies” who’ve been married for 39 years!”***

If you didn’t win, you can grab some at CrayolaStore.comWhat a fun inexpensive Valentines gift!

Here’s to getting a ‘little dirty’ while getting clean! ;)

    • Shelley says:

Hey Shelley, do you have any idea if you can use these on tile showers??

    • Shelley says:

I just checked the packaging and Crayloa says “Product may stain unporous surfaces such as UNsealed tile grout. Test on a small area first”. I think they would be fine,…but just test it out first. Does anyone else know the answer for sure? I don’t have fancy shmancy tile! {not yet at least} ;)

  80. Mindy says:

Such a cute idea and much easier to clean up than the old lipstick on the mirror trick!

What a fun idea! I wonder if it works on tile, too? Anyone tried?!?

  117. Brett says:

Thanks for sharing a fun V-day idea–I actually found some at Target for $4.99 a package. Not too bad!

  118. Natalie Kay says:

LOVE this idea! Maybe this can replace the “i love you” pitcher of cold water over the shower curtain. =) I don’t know if I’ll get that lucky, but I can’t pass up on this fun idea! Thanks for the post!

  119. Ali says:

Oh dear, do I dare get these for my husband? He’ll be in there all day! We used to do dry erase marker notes on the bathroom mirror but noticed when it got steamy that we could still see some of the old messages. This will be much better, if we can keep the kids out of our bathroom.

  120. nancy ward says:

we just celebrated our 35th wedding aniversary on the 18th. we used the same idea writing in the steam of the mirror. i going to do this, because now we actually have a bathroom that is adults only! well except for Holiday breaks when the house fills up and no bathroom is private. the oldest daughter is getting married 10/01/10, maybe i can make her blush at her shower.

  121. Jill says:

I love this!!! My hubby and I often leave eachother messages on the bathroom mirror with dry-erase markers, but now we can be a bit steamier without the chance of someone else seeing it!!!!

  122. Amy Eaton says:

I have also use the window markers I believe made by crayola for the mirror…it has been awhile I need get some more….love your site:)

  123. Jenny says:

I actually thought of this the other day. My daughter has bath markers, so I thought “why not write a note to hubby”. He never said anything about it, but he had to have seen it the next morning. Oh well.

I also write things on his sandwich bags or napkin for his lunch.

  124. Melissa says:

What a great idea! I made a little dry erase board for the master bath that my hubby and I write messages to each other on, but I LOVE the shower idea. :) Thank you! Always a fun site-my guilty pleasure… :)

  125. Amy says:

Love this idea. Our house is on the market right now but I’ll pull some out in the new house.

  126. Stephanie says:

This is a cute idea… I had a similar idea (haven’t done it yet, but this reminded me); I thought about writing a love note/letter and having it laminated and hanging it in the shower. Should be fun :)

  127. Christie says:

I saw this trick over at Love Actually and went and bought some crayons on eBay straight away! I’ve just received them and can’t wait to have a shower tomorrow morning! You’ve got a brand new fan in Melbourne Australia…keep the ideas coming!

  128. Carole says:

    I love this idea!

Question- When giving the shower crayons as a wedding present do you include a note to say how you personally use them and how fun it is? I would like to give them as a gift but am afraid that my friend would be like, “why are you giving me children’s bathtub crayons?”

    • Shelley says:

I either tuck in a note, or when she opens it, tell her how it is fun in your marriage (or mine ;) ). Feel free to direct her to this post! :)

  129. Jill says:

    What a fun idea! Thanks!

  130. Leigh says:

This is tooo cute!!! Love them!!!

  131. April E. says:

    I LOVE IT!
It has been SO much fun to do this…who knew Husby was such an artist! :P
Although we had to go with regular washable crayons, cause I was too impatient and wanted to get started and couldn’t find bath crayons at my Wal-mart…oh well it still works.
I even got a little bragging for it!
    http://www.2slicksgoodtimes.com/2010/03/blushing.html
    THANKS for the great ideas!

  132. Michelle says:

I love this idea! It’s a fun way to say all those things we forget to say during the chaos of the day! Thanks!

  133. Alice C says:

I can’t wait to do this!!! with 4 kiddos this might be a way for us to finish a conversation- lol :) Thanks for the idea!
