Faux Fur

Some are into faux fur. Some are not. I’m what you call one of those faux fur in-betweeners – not fully committed to the cause {ie: owner of a fur hat, fur shawl, fur coat} but not completely shying away from it either. You see, I own two vests. One that gets up in your face in a “Pow! FUR BALL!” kind of way. And one that’s a little more play-it-safe with a dabble of fur just on the top.

Over the few seasons that I’ve owned them, I’ve tried a couple different layering techniques that I thought I’d share with you. Just in case you want to try it with your own faux fur. Or maybe jump start your incentive to go out and get a little fur ball of your own. Because ladies, one thing’s for sure – it’s here for the season. And it’s here to stay.

1. Layer your faux fur look! With scarves, hats, or multiple sweaters if you’d like. You’ll look bundled and fuzzy. Maybe you’ll even convince yourself to go into hibernation for a few weeks hours faux fur fashion

2. Surprise! You can wear fur with a more summery look too! A pair of dark, flared jeans keeps it polished while you let your colorful, breezy top keep it light and cool faux fur fashion

3. Pair your faux fur with a floral print to keep your look feminine and flirty. For more “flirty” … subtract the bump. That look gives you more of a “Keep away. Far far away” feel.

4. Plaid! To keep this look from getting wa-aay to western-y, I like to polish it up a bit by buttoning the collar all the way up and pairing it with simple accessories – like a gold boyfriend watch. faux fur fashion 5. And finally, try wearing your faux fur with a skirt! To keep this looks simple and chic, I kept the color scheme very streamlined with blacks and browns only.

So what say you? You ready to get your fur ball on this season?

Sydney

Sydney just made the recent move to Washington D.C. where she resides with her husband and new baby boy. She’s enjoying the transition from college grad to a developing domestic queen. Her latest domestic accomplishment: skipping the Mac-and-Cheese aisle at Walmart. You can find more of Sydney on her blog, the daybook.

WOW!!! I must say I have always been interested in trying fur but also scared away from it but after looking through this post I want to run out and grab me the first fur vest I see!!! All of these looks, Sydney, are AMAZING! You are a stunner!

Very cute, but I just feel like I can’t pull the fur look off. Some of the faux fur textures are really weird, too. Maybe a really fuzzy fleece is as far as I can take it.

  3. We LoVe the faux fur! Syndey wears it well! xo
