I am so excited to welcome our special guest from “Natural Girl who is sharing a “cool” treat that is perfect for your 4th of July party! This is a multi-flavored, nutritious frozen treat you’ll be proud to serve your kids. Sound good? Let’s getting creating:

Supplies:

Let’s Begin!

Step 1.Puree 1 & 1/2 cups strawberries (green tops removed) and pour into first 1/3 of popsicle molds.  Cover and freeze for about an hour.

Step 2.

Remove from freezer, add 2nd layer of coconut milk.  Or blend 1/2 can coconut milk with with 1/2 banana for a banana-coconut flavor.  Cover with foil and insert sticks.  Freeze another hour.

Step 3
.

Remove from freezer and add blueberries (optional).

Step 4.

Add blueberry yogurt, cover and freeze another hour, or overnight.

While you wait…..make the “fireworks” drip guards

Use colorful cupcake liners ~ flatten and cut in towards center ~ or use construction paper….
1.  Cut 4-inch circles out of construction paper, cut fringed strips towards center circle (center circle approx. the size of a nickel).
2.  Fold the circle in half and cut a small triangle in the center of the circle by snipping two angled cuts.
3.  When you open the circle, you should have a small diamond shape.  Insert the stick so the drawn circle (if you made one) faces down.

Serve!

Pop the frozen treats out of molds, add a festive “fireworks” drip-guard & serve!

No time for popsicles?  You can also add the drip guards to straws!

“Fireworks” straws will encourage your kids to drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated on hot summer days.
