Wearing neon in a non-neon way

So there’s this new trend going around right? It’s called …. NEONNNNNN. Cue: flashing lights and crashing thunder.
This trend may be scary for some. Especially for those of us who
A: had any kind of experience in the 80′s
B: are no longer attending black-light enhanced night clubs
C: tried out any variety of neon rubber-bands on our braces

OK? We just don’t go there.

Or so we thought. Turns out, there’s a subtle way to wear this trend. Three actually. None of which will make your children go screaming in the opposite direction. Aw. Yay for happy endings!

Option 1: Wear a muted neon, paired with classic, neutral colored basics. ie: denim flares and a blue button-up

Option 2: Wear a bright neon on your lips. The trick here is to make the rest of your make-up basically nude. Only mascara and a little blush if necessary. Your lips will be poppin, your teeth will look whiter and any man would step right up at your kissing booth.

Option 3: Wear a neon on your nails! Because I myself have not ventured to Walmart to pick out my favorite neon nail color yet, I stole this idea and pic from the lovely Taylor over at Sterling Style. She’s convincing isn’t she? I think I’d try out an orange!

Now go get that neon on!
