I have a confession to make. I am IN LOVE with all things vintage. No really, it’s a bit of an obsession. (At least, that is what my husband calls it.) I can’t help it! There is just something so very charming and timeless about vintage.
That’s why I love this next giveaway so much.
It is sponsored by a darling little etsy shop called Heavens to Betty. They offer a wide variety of fine vintage goods at A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.L.Y low prices. Seriously, you can’t beat em! Just take a look at all this vintage eye candy!
Decorating with vintage pieces really is the “rage” now.
And I’m loving it!
Wouldn’t these blocks add just the right touch to your child’s vintage inspired bedroom?
I was so excited to see all these adorable children’s books that you can find at Heavens to Betty. They bring back so many fond memories of books I used to read with my grandmother.
Look at this darling 1959 Dorothy Grider book. A timeless story of a little girl’s quest to become a majorette. (How cute is that?! A majorette! So much better than dreaming of becoming Britney Spears! Oh boy.) :)
Look at these stunning illustrations! They just don’t make books like this anymore.
I have to get this CLASSIC 1955 classic Walt Disney book for my daughter.
What a find! And it is a total steal at $11.25!

This 1977 bookend is a must have for that little boy’s vintage playroom!
Perfect for that future little football star.
It would look so cute paired with this vintage cutout?!
Wouldn’t this look amazing framed? This package comes with 4 other pictures for only $6! I told you the prices were unbelievable!
-
This adorable children’s board game would be fun for playing or would be darling displayed as well!
Can you believe it comes with all the pieces in their original packaging! It was never even played!!
I could go on and on and on. There are so many vintage treasures to drool over! Looking at all these makes me want to jump in an Audrey Hepburn movie right now.

One of my favorite memories is of me and my grandpa… I was about 14 watching music videos at their house and my grandpa grabbed me and started dancing with me and singing in my ear… oh how I love that man <3 He still sings to me from time to time and it brings tears to my eyes every time!

My favorite memory of my grandparents is going to visit them in Florida.
It was always in the summer, always scorching hot, and I loved to go out on their porch swing, and swing with them.
I miss doing that.
#3 entry – Favorite memory with both of my grandma’s would be playing games like Aggravation, Yahtzee, and countless others while enjoying orange push ups, summer sausage and cheese with crackers, and peach flavored sun tea. I LOVE my grandparents =)

I have a couple of favorite memories of my Grampa. I think my MOST favorite of all time was this:
My Grampa lived in Louisiana, and we lived in Ohio. Every summer my Grampa would bring us some watermelon and fresh frozen shrimp that he had caught, and of course licorice and circus peanuts! Well, the first night he was there, we had a big dinner of red beans and rice and andouille sausage. After dinner we cut up one of the big watermelons that he brought up and everyone ate at least one slice. After we were done eating our watermelon I asked Grampa if I could play with his hair. I was the baby, so of course I got to do pretty much whatever I wanted. I proceeded to use my watermelon-dripping hands to spike Grampas (mostly full head of) hair into swirly spikes all over. Mom and Grampa laughed so hard! Mom has a picture of it somewhere. When she and my step dad moved from Ohio to Texas, she had about 7 of those giant plastic containers full of nothing but pictures! She promised she would get some of them out soon and scan them so we could all have them.
.-= Jacque Charwood´s last blog ..Stress- Its A Killer! =-.
I think I would have to have the vintage bundt pan. My Gramma always made bundt cakes and they were my fave!
My favorite memory of my Gramma Vesta is going to spend the night at her house. She was quite the canner so every time I visited we would share a glass of tomato juice at night and watch Wheel of Fortune. Then in the morning we would eat canned raspberries and just talk. I love and miss my Gramma so much!
What a cute shop! My favorite are the little Halloween ghosts. Thank you so much for giving us the chance to win such a generous gift.

I LOVE those Melamine plates! Oh, what a treat they would be to use!
My favorite memory of my grandparents was making cookies with my grandma! She taught me so much about baking, and it was so special to spend the afternoon mixing our ingredients on her old Kitchenaid. My grandpa would always sneak into the kitchen to steal a few chocolate chips, too!
And, I just need to mention that I believe those canisters are the same exact kind my grandma had… I would love to use those!
My paternal grandparents lived in Florida with a swampy area directly behind their house. One summer I thought it would be fun to play on the dock and poke at the baby alligators with a giant stick. My grandfather wanting to teach me a lesson and play a joke at the same time decided to sneak up on me and grab my leg. I have never screamed so loud or jumped so high in my life! Needless to say I stayed off the dock and left the baby alligators alone.
The vintage Minnie Mouse applause doll is my favorite.

WOW!! A sweet memory about my grandparents…where do I start? First of all…at the age of 55…I’m very blessed to still have a grandparent living. My Mamaw just turned NINETY-NINE!! I absolutely adored my Mamaw and Papaw…and they did me, as I was the first grandbaby born to them. We lived close…and every Saturday night they would visit us. I would always take my Papaw’s cap off and he would give me his comb and let me comb his hair…and my Mamaw…had to be the best cook in the world. I really need to write all the things that I can remember about them down, huh? To be shared with our daughter and GRAND-sons!!! Thanks for letting me ramble…and enter to win!!! In His Love…Deb

I would LOVE the vintage bundt pan…..it would look lovely with the vintage canisters!
I already “like” you guys on facebook!
Three of my grandparents passed before I was old enough to remember them. My grandfather on my mother’s side, “Pops” was a very large, very serious German man who did not smile a lot. My fondest memory is of being a little girl, maybe 4 years old, sitting on the backrest of my grandfather’s chair……combing his hair and putting it in tons of tiny ponytails. Pops would let me do this for hours if I wanted. He was a real softie when it came to his grandbabies.
Love the vintage serving tray … anything like that reminds me of my childhood

Favorite memory of my grandparents has to be all those Italian Christmas Eve Dinners! More fish than you have ever seen! Everyone STUNK like garlic by the end of the night! Running around with cousins!

I remember Sunday lunches at my grandparents. We would have roast beef and fried chicken along with many many vegetables and homemade rolls. It was fabulous!
I rarely saw my grandparents because we lived on the other side of the United States, but I do remember eating at my grandma’s house and our ‘big’ meal was at lunch which I thought was odd as our big meal growing up was dinner. I’m a city girl and my grandma was a farm girl!

I have so many great memories of my grandparents–I spent almost every summer staying with them when I was growing up. We went on trips together, they took me on my first plane ride, riding in tractors, baking and canning in the kitchen. Loads of wonderful memories!!
Definitely remember a lot of the items on her site!!! Little Women was a book my Mother felt every young women should read! She had 5 daughters and I think I still have her original copy! I just love the white chenille bedspread!
.-= Penny´s last blog ..Fall is here in a big sorta way!! =-.

One of my favorite memories as a girl is cooking with my mom…she had very similar canisters that she got from her mom. I loved to help her bake.
1: LOVE the board game
2: Liked you guys
3: I remember singing old songs with my Nana. I sing them all the time with my 2 year old. We have quite the time singing Tea for Two…a fun way to teach my daughter about my nana she never got to meet.
I like you in my reader AND on FB!
I checked out Heavens to Betty first and am having a hard time picking a favorite. The chenille bedspread & vintage books particularly caught my fancy. I had to laugh when I saw 2 things I have and use on the “vintage” list — the Singer buttonholer and the Learn to Knit booklet — both inherited from relatives. Love the canisters and would actually used them in our vintage-y home.
Something I always think about around my birthday is how both my maternal and paternal grandparents sent all their grandchildren (there were a lot on both sides) a $1 bill in their birthday cards. I’m lucky enough to still have the last one my maternal grandfather sent, as he died shortly after my birthday. I also remember the “twin” outfits my maternal grandparents bought my sister and me for back-to-school. Both sets of grandparents lived far away and we didn’t see them often, but they always had wonderful hugs for all of us.
The learn how to knit is what tickles my fancy.
I like How Does She on FB.
I really don’t think you want to hear about the outhouse and corncobs used for cleaning. My Grandparents were born in the 1800′s. My dad was born in 1901. I grew up with no bathroom or running water in the house and an ole hand pump for water. We only had a fireplace for heat in the winter. My father insisted on cleanliness and the outhouse had to be raked out(it had no back side at the bottom) and burned every Saturday. Now let your imigination work a little. Oh heck I could keep on but I won’t. Thanks for the chance to enter your giveaway.
I have a memory of my grandfather making me a jump rope out of rope. I still have that jump rope.
The vintage game boards are great!
There is so much to love at Heavens to Betty, but those vintage gift wraps really caught my eye and The “Tom Thumb” book looks adorable.
I’ve liked you on facebook!
My earliest memory of my Grandfather is sitting on his lap and looking into the pockets of his bib-overalls. My Grandmother made my favorite blankie, and I remember her giving it an overhaul with a new cover when it wore out.
OH I LOVE the vintage Lady and the Tramp book. MY daughter LOVES books and this would be so special. THANKS
I really like the vintage wrapping paper.
fan on fb.
My best memories of my grandparents are of when we used to visit them every Sat. night. We brought donuts and sometimes slept over. They’d take us shopping the next morning and get burgers before taking us home. It was really comforting. Their house was small, a plantation home in Aiea, Hawaii. But we’d all crowd into their house, my parents, my three siblings, my grandparents and my uncle who lived with them. It’s a nice memory. My grandfather passed away four years ago at age 96. My grandma is 98, and my uncle still lives with her. Thanks for asking the question.
love the vintage Landslide boardgame.
favorite memory of my grandparents: well, this one is a memory exclusive to my maternal grandfather. I remember, when I was 3 years old – my grandpa (I call him Poppy Walt) played “Pretty Pretty Princess” with me whenever I asked (it’s a board game). He would even put on the clip-on earrings & everything.

Loving the vintage Armour Hotdog ad…so cute!
Some of my first memories with my Grammy are of her taking me shopping at TJ Maxx and Marshalls — she would take me with her to read the price tags (she refused to wear reading glasses) and in the process, I learned to read my numbers AND how to bargain shop at a young age!
ooo, i am swooning over those canisters, they remind me of my beloved grandma! i am in love with the vintage rooster tray she has in shop!
my original grandma had breast cancer in the late 60′s early 70′s and my most vivid memories of her are about climbing up on her hospital bed (at home) and her letting me push all the buttons and having tea parties with me right there in bed! sadly she passed when i was 5 or 6, and i still remember my parents not letting me go to the funeral.
i have liked you on fb for some time now
oh my goodness, all those vintage books!! Love them.
I like you on Facebook!!
When I was 3 years old, my parents finally wanted me out of my crib and into a big girl bed, so to make the transition easier, my Grandma asked me what kind of bed I wanted, it could be anything I wanted, and she would buy it for me, I immediately exclaimed “Rainbow Brite!” I still have the sheet set and pillow case to this day!
I really like the vintage serving tray with orange and yellow. I think I had one like that when I was first married. It’s killing me that my children’s books are now vintage – it would probably kill them more to hear it!
I have wonderful memories of my grandparents. My grandfather was a minister. Every night he would have family prayer and pray for all 11 children, their spouses and the 33 grandchildren – by name. To this day, I still remember many of my cousins’ names by thinking back to those family prayers.
I checked out her Etsy shop, and I LOVE the white chenille bedspread!
I really, really like you on Facebook!

When I was 3 years old my parents finally divorced – they were very young and up until then my childhood had been less-than-stable to say the least. My mother, my baby sister and I moved in with my maternal grandparents and it was like Heaven…..it felt so stable and secure. Dinner was at the same time every night, and was eaten at the table as a family, and I was treated like a valued member of that family. Grandma also used the same menu each week, with the exception of Sunday dinner. So, if it was Friday, I knew we were going to have chili mac and cornbread for dinner and Lawrence Welk would be on TV. It was exactly what that 3-year-old child needed to heal. Even to this day, listening to the same music as they listened to (swing music) is so very comforting to me. I look forward to seeing them when I get to Heaven someday.
I remember my granddaddy taking me to this fancy children’s store when I was about 6 and buying me my very first white cardigan! It was white with teddy bears embroirdered on it. Such a sweet memory!
I love the tear drop plates So Cute! I love old fashioned things! Awesome! Thanks
I was born in the Philippines in 1977, and I remember seeing photos in my Mom’s albums of huge plate-size pancakes, stacked one on top of each other with one big taper candle right down the middle of the pancakes. That was the (breakfast) birthday cakes my grandmother used to make for my brother and me our first 4 or 5 years. After that, I remember starting to miss those pancake cakes when my family and I moved to the US. My grandmother is now 87, and I don’t think she remembers doing that for my brother and me, but it’s something I’ll never forget.
I love the vintage metal tray with the rooster! can picture it in my kitchen already =)

One time (my sister & I were like 8-10 years old) when my grandma was in the hospital for several weeks & far away. We visited grandpa. It was a 5 hour drive to their house, we usually got there late at night from the drive. My grandma would have every pie imaginable made for us (including mine & her favorite, rhubarb pie), macaroni salad, potato salad, bread & butter, ham, you name it. Well since she was in the hospital grandpa told us that he cooked for us. We had never known Grandpa to cook anything. This was the late 70′s, LOL! He said just go into the dining area (they lived in a single wide trailer w/ a 2 room extenstion). Long & Behold… the table was all set pretty (nothing matched, but had never really seen their table “set” out with all the silverware & napkins etc. Well he told us “sisters… sit down & eat!”. Instead of a plate there was a mason jar sealed & inside was popped popcorn. We were like grandpa, its just popcorn. And he said nope. Its the best popcorn you will ever eat! He had JARRED fresh cooked popcorn. I kid you not. We had to have the grown ups open it for us & everything. And it was the best popcorn in the world, it just about melted in your mouth.

I like the bundt pan. My memories include my grandma teaching me to make a German chocolate cake from scratch(I was in my late 20′s when she taught me that a cake didn’t have to come from a box), and my grandpa letting me dance on his feet after supper to George Jones, Johnny Cash, and other great artists. I miss them so much.
One of my oldest memories is visiting my grandma who lived out of state. She lived in a rural farm community and we would go “pick rocks” and for whatever reason, this was serious fun for me and my cousins. If only picking rocks was fun now!
Vintage – Raggedy Ann – 1970s Centerpiece Hallmark
My grandpa was one of those slient types – the year he passed away i was there for the summer driving them crazy for sure. He was working on an old truck and then her i came watching quitely (for once) and then i asked to help and he nodded and he let me get the tools and then when we were done he told me “your getting interesting”. I know that doesn’t sound like anything but for a man who really never spoke it was a big big thing to me and i remember it to this day.
I think I just found a new favorite on Etsy! I had to heart several items for my hubby to reference for my wish list. I love the idea of framing the vintage book pages. She really has an eye for awesome vintage! Love it!
My Granny is one of the most amazing people I know. She laughs at me though when it comes to my love of vintage and distressed items. SHe says “Growing up in the depression everything looked worn out…why would you buy it that way!” I just giggle and cherish all of her old things.
The bookend girls
Adorable..
I already “Like” you on FB.. And I LOVE your posts!
I love my grandparents. When we were kids, we would spend weeks at a time with them. They were our bestfriends.. always doing something fun with us and giving us special attention! Harvest time was a busy time for our grandparents and we would always go over help pick the garden vegetables, blue berries, black berries, strawberries, apples, cherries, etc. It was all lots of work, but we have so many cherished memories from those days!
I LOVE you site!! I just found it and I’m hooked! I “liked” you on facebook and my favorites from that cuter than cute etsy shop is the vintage Pooh picutes or the awesome melamine plates – so cool. I’m lucky that I had both my grandmas living close, even right next door while growing up. I have lots of wonderful memories with them, but one of my favorites is sitting on my Grandma’s front steps with 3 twizzler licorices while she read Henry Huggins to my sister and me.
Vintage – Minnie Mouse – Applause Doll is what tickles my fancy!! How cute and that teen skipper also is something I love!

I love the children’s books. My son’s first bday is next month and we are doing a vintage toy theme for the party. These canisters and the books would be perfect! Thanks for the great giveaway!

sounds silly but one of my favorite memories is watching soap opera with my great-grandma. While I was staying with her during summer days, we would eat lunch and watch soap operas each day. Didn’t really make sense to me but so fun just hanging with her!
Just about all of my memories of my Italian grandparents are centered around their old wooden kitchen table that my father had proudly purchased for them when he was a young man. We ate, cried, celebrated, … we were always family around that table. Now, that table sits in my kitchen … worn and wonderful

I liked the yellow, orange and green serving tray. It really brought back memories of my mom and that stylish brown and avocado kitchen I grew up in!
I would LOVE these canisters in my kitchen-I can vividly remember my grandmother having very similar-if no the exact-ones. She had a red vinyl stool that was just for me to sit in. I would sit play with the lids on her canisters.
I like the white chenille bedspread most of all!
I love the mushroom book page! The christmas decoration bowl is also beautiful
I have loved Paddington Bear since I was little so I have to go with the music box!!
I requested facebook friendship!
I love the hot dog ad and my son would love the firetruck you mentioned!
My favorite memory of my grandparents is the nights when we would make our own pasta together and my grandfather would run around dancing and singing (horribly) Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra while laying out the pasta to dry.
My favorite memory of my grandparents…. I loved it when my grandpa would swing my cousins and me in the little black swing in their basement in the winter. I also loved playing the game Peanuts with my grandma!!
My maternal grandmother passed away when I was only four years old, but I think the faint memories I have of her are sweet nonetheless. I can remember what she looked like by looking at my mother, especially as she gets older. I can remember her polyester moo-moo type dresses she always wore, and that it seemed like she made macaroni and cheese at family get-togethers just for my cousin and me. She always waited until the kitchen was all cleaned up and all of the grown=ups were out of the way to pull ice cream from the freezer to share with the two of us cousins alone, like she saved it just so she could have the special time with us. I hate that she missed the other four grandchildren and the six great-grandchildren that came along, and mostly, I hate that they didn’t get to know her. She was special!

The canisters are beautiful and I LOVE the Halloween ghosts on the first page…they are quirky and remind me of something my grandma used to have….makes me wonder if my grandma’s halloween decor is up in her attic somewhere. I’ll have to ask my grandpa!
I love the creepy fish (ready to frame)! I may have to have it!
I like the vintage gift wrapping paper!
I have too many “favorite” memories of my grandparents. My sister, my cousins and I were wonderfully blessed by their lives and their love for us.
My FIRST memory ever is of my great grandfather–my Jogie Bill. (Jogie is an Americanized verison of the Polish word for grandfather). He had a mini frigde in his room upstairs at my grandparents house. A mini fridge in a bedroom was pretty amazing to a little girl…but the best part was that he always had ice cream in it when we visited. He always had a special treat waiting for us. Eating ice cream upstairs with Jogie was such a special thing for me as a little girl.

My favorite memory of my grandparents is them teaching me to rollerskate in their basement when I was about 7 years old. They cleared a “rink” for me and ran in circles with me holding on to a broom stick, while I tried to learn to balance. I finally caught on, but continued to hold on to the broom stick, because it looked like a prop, and I clearly was a professional, after 3 basement lessons. I hope they can see watch my mother and I teach my son how to skate in their basement!

i’m fortunate that at 95, my grandma is still living. she is a baker. the red cookie jar on the kitchen counter was always full.my brother was allergic to choclate, so there were often pinapple cookies for him. and for a special christmas treat she made fudge, and choclate covered cherries.i’m grateful that she has passed those recipies on to me, so those traditions can continue.
my fav memory is going camping with my grandpa and cousins every year! He would let us pick whatever we wanted to eat (even if it was all junk) and let us stay up as late as we wanted and do whatever we wanted. He would play all sorts of games and teach us all kinds of great stuff. It must have cost him a fortune but I loved every minute of it.
My earliest memory of THESE CANISTERS is probably around when I was 4 or so and we had them in our kitchen! I can picture my mom scooping flour out of the flour canister and getting it all over the kitchen!

One of my favorite memories of my grandparents is of my Grandpa Birch. He was a WWII vet and a Norwegian immigrant, he was gruff, had lived a hard life, and always seemed very serious. As long as I can remember he had a military buzz cut and when I was a little girl he used to let me stand on a stool behind his chair and use one of my Grandmother’s combs to pretend brush his spiky hair. It’s such a contradiction to his stern demeanor, that it makes me smile every time I think of him.
Thanks for a great giveaway…and the opportunity to share a wonderful memory I hadn’t thought of in a long time.

The white chenile bedspread is divine!
Oh my… Is it weird I just got short of breath? I LOVE all things vintage too. Like, obsessed love… my husband thinks I have “a problem,” silly husbands, what do they know
I love that vintage padington bear, I loved Padington bear as a little girl. And the vintage bulletin board-community helpers would be so cute in my sons room! But the canisters are to die for! *fingers crossed i win!
Favorite memory of grandparents = Grandpa outside making his special recipe BBQ chicken and Grandma by his side making her special recipe homemade icecream. Good family times!
I stalk you… I mean, I like you on facebook
I love the vintage glass jar with borwn lid and the vintage melamine plates – coloryte branchell
My favorite memory of my grandparents is at my GREAT grandparents house. My grandma was always dressed what my little 10 year old mind thought was so fancy! And she was! Always in a beautiful dress, white gloves, pearls… She was amazing. And she always had fig newtons on the counter in the coolest cookie jar. Fig newtons always remind me of her and my great gpa. And I loved their phone. I thought it was soo cool that it was just like Mr. Rogers
aka, a big white rotary phone.
I like The Vintage – Glass Jar With Brown Lid!!
There are so many cool things, but I think my favorite is the Bundt Cake pan – that would be fun to use for the holidays!

My favorite memory of my grandmother is when I was about 4 or 5 years old and she kicked my cabbage patch doll across the room to torture me! She thought it was the funniest thing ever!! I was sooo MAD!! Looking back…..I LOVE that memory!
I’m not sure I can choose just ONE favorite memory. All my grandparents were so wonderful, I loved every minute that I got to spend with them! I do remember my great grandma packing picnics for us and we would walk out into the pasture and make a fire and roast hotdogs and drink from a thermos (which I thought was sooo cool!). She was always up for an adventure. I miss her all the time!

Gotta be the paper doll with the yarn hair. Now that I’m a Grandma, with 2 grand daughters, I must have never grown out of playing with paper dolls myself.
K, I have to have the paper doll with real yarn hair! How fun is that?
I adore the vintage greeting cards. I love to send them to friends, or attach them to gifts for an extra-special touch. I have also designed adorable children’s party invitations using the images on vintage cards. Precious!

One of my favorite memories of my grandma is playing chinese checkers with her everyday after school. She’d bake cookies and we’d eat them with a glass of milk and talk about my day.
I’ve liked you gals for a long time FB!!
Both my dad’s parents passed away this past year and so I have spent a significant amount of time reflecting on their legacy in my life. My favorite memory of my grandmother is the way she smelled. As long as I can remember, she always wore Elizabeth Arden White Shoulders, and when she would hug and hold me, the fragrance would linger on my own clothes. After we cleaned out my grandparents’ home a couple of months ago, I was fortunate to bring home some of their belongings. At the time, I didn’t notice this, but just a few days ago, I opened a box that had some of her scarves and jewelry in it, and that White Shoulders essence was on everything. It brought me simultaneous sadness and comfort, feeling that although she is gone, her lively and joyous spirit is still with me through these simple treasures! Anytime I have needed a lift this week, I go straight for that box and put on one of her scarves!

I’ve been in Halloween/Fall mode for a while now (love this time of year), so all the decorations – I loved!! The ghosts were too cute!!

I am loving the Paddington Bear music box! I’m hoping it’s got a jar of orange marmalade inside!

My Grandpa Bennett used to put me on his leg and give me pony rides. Here’s a good one! My parents forgot me at my Grandma and Grandpa Trumbull’s when I was 3. I was sleeping in the yard. When they came to pick me up I hadn’t even cared that they left me there. I had my grandparents all to myself without my 5 older siblings.
WOW!!! What a fun shop! Talk about time travel….. a LOT of those things brought back memories of my grandparents and great-aunts! I think my favorite was the canisters…. or maybe it was the chenille bedspread! Although I liked the colors of the ‘melmac’ or melamine plates, too…….. they’d be fun for fall! The books were wonderful, too…. I remember reading about the little majorette… I think we had that book in our collection! WOW….
Thanks for making me smile………..
Oh those are gorgeous!! I love the book titled “Too Many Names” over at Heavens to Betty. Probably because the boy on the front is named John and that’s my husband’s name. But it looks adorable.

My favorite memory of my Grandma was driving through Evanston, Wyo. with her and she would tell me all about her days growing up there – riding her horse to school, having her sister (who was also her school teacher) tape her mouth shut because she talked too much, laying on her belly to drink out of the crick (where all the cows were standing in it – yuck!). I loved hearing those stories…..and still do. My sweet grandma will be 85 this year!

We would visit our grandparents who lived in Maine every summer. They didnt have many toys for little kids there but my Nana saved all her old wooden spools from sewing and we used them like blocks… but they were even better. Love that memory!
When we used to visit my grandparents in Washington, my grandma would serve us fresh raspberries (they grew them in their backyard) with every meal. They also made homemade sourdough bread. We’d arrive late at night and they would prepare us a little snack of pan-fried sourdough bread and we could each fresh raspberries with it. My grandma also made raspberry jelly and always gave me some. Even now whenever I have homemade raspberry jelly or fresh raspberries, it reminds me of my grandparents and our visits to their house.

One of my favorite memories of my grandfather, we would sit out on the porch and feed the birds, it was so peaceful there.
It is hard to pick a “favorite memory” of time with my grandparents because ther were so many. They lived in Beaufort SC when I was growing up and we would visit in the summer, so the smell of the beach always takes me back to those memories. Grandmama loved flowers, and the very back of their backyard was a field of wildflowers (as a little kid I thought it was huge). My sister and I would pick bouquets to take in to Grandmama that she always went on about and she would get out a slim white bud vase or even a jelly jar to put them in and put them on the top of her itchen cabinets to enjoy. It wasn’t untill just recently that I found out that my Grandpapa was allergic to the flowers and she put them on the top of the cabinets so not to irritate him. We were made to feel special and loved by them and that is the prevailing memory that I have. I miss them both, thank you for giving me a reason to visit those memories today!
Sorry for the looonng coment. LOL

I love the vintage Bedspread. I do love you guys on facebook!! I use to go over to my Great Grandma’s house while my mom mowed her lawn and we use to sit inside and watch my mom mow and see the sheep that my grandma had in her backyard! It was a very fond memory that I have of her! She was a sweet lady and I loved her very much!
Oh my, I have that exact same set of canisters (all 4-flour, sugar, coffee and tea) that I use every day and have for about 10 years now. I absolutely love them!!
I lllloooovvvveeee vintage things, learning about them, each piece seems to have a story of its own connected to it, my home is decorated in all things old and vintage, many of the things have been pasted down from generation of the past in the family. I visited the etsy shop and fell in love with the Paper Doll with real yarn hair.. that is too cute. those canisters would fit perfect in my kitchen..
My favorite memory of my Grandmothers.. oh geeze.. its hard to choose one.. Both of my great grandmothers always always always had a Candy dish in thier living rooms full of hard candy one always had lemon drops and the other one always had that ribbon kind that they only sale at christmas well then i guess it was year round.. my grandmother always kept little cans of juice in her frig for when we visited with pull tags we always loved thoes.. Momories of my Great Grandmother in Law are ones i will never forget, cause as an adult meeting her and her life lessons she shared with me are ones that brought me to Christ, taught me to love and care for my family and how a true Godly mother, mothers her children.. But one funny memory is when she saw a “Thunder Mug” that was once hers as a child that we were given to decorate with (not knowing what it was used for back in the day) well she saw it setting by my frig and she just started laugh so hard at 94 years old, and i asked what was sooooo funny and she asked me if i knew what that was used for and of coarse No i didn’t, and so she went on to tell us that it was used as their toliet at night instead of going out to the outhouse…. Its a moment i will never forget cause of the humor it brought her to see it in my kitchen what they use to use to releive themselves in all those years ago..
I love Heavens to Betty! What a great Etsy shop! My favorite item was the Singer Buttonholer and I actually purchased it! It reminds me of learning to sew in my Grandmother’s sewing shop, sitting next to her in front of the sewing machine as she showed me what each of the settings did and how to change everything to make the machine do what I needed it to do. Then learning
how to stitch on pieces of crepe paper along maze lines to learn how to turn the fabric and stop and start correctly. I can almost smell the fabrics as I played amongst the bolts with my brother….
I like the paddington bear Music box – he was one of my favorite stories growing up.

I think my favorite things at Heavens to Betty are the chenille bedspread, the vintage gift wrap and the tally cards. I have a bunch of Christmas tally cards that were my grandmothers that I use now for gift tags. One of my favorite memories is of my great grandmother. When we would visit her she had a vintage canister (that these ones remind me of) that she would get down as soon as we got to her house. It was filled with cookies. Every time I see a chenille bead spread, they remind me of my grandmothers and the simplicity of their lives.
I adore the vintage glass jar with brown lid!
My first memory of my grandmother was taking the bus on a rainy day into the city and visiting an old fashioned sweet shop and being allowed to pick some chocolates out!

I love the vintage wrapping paper they have for sale!

Favorite memory with my grandparents: They always had a little garden and my grandpa would have us go pick some Rhubarb and grandma would get us some sugar and we would sit on the steps of the deck and dip our rhubarb into the sugar. Best thing ever. I even started it this year with my children.

One of my favorite memories with my grandparents (and I will have to excuse myself because this will have a swear word in it) was when my sister and I went to see them one night. My grandma wanted my grandpa to go buy her something at the store. Anyway–he was so mad about it and said “Damn something” on the way out. Well, he had to come back in because he had forgotten something, and I was like “well, do you want your damn jacket too?!” We all started laughing, because I didn’t swear (at least, not at the time…not much more now…but that is getting to be tmi…). It was totally funny becasue it helped break the tension and helped us all smile
My favorite memories of my grandparents have to be getting to go on tractor rides with my grandpa, on their farm in Kentucky. My little sis & I couldn’t wait to get on the back of that tractor every time we went up there. Especially when it was piled up with bales of hay & we got to ride on top of it. When I was about 12 we hit a dip while riding & the hay, my sis & I all went overboard into a giant mud puddle. We were covered. Such good memories.
Love the Bearstein Bear book.
I have so many wonderful memories of my dear Nana. We would spend the week end with her at the lake and bake cup cakes and cookies for the cookie jar that now sits on my counter. She always had so much patience for our little hands. I was in awe of her shimmering aluminum Christmas tree. Now I have her prized holiday ornaments on my tree and set my table with her china. My daughter just wore her pearls at her wedding, wishing that she could have met the woman that I shared so many stories about…

My most vivid memory is my Grandma going upstairs with a can of beer to have while she read in bed. It’s an odd memory to have, but one I will never forget.
I too love the vintage Chenille Bedspread. It reminds me of when I was a little girl… I also love the Skipper doll. I still have mine, but she doesn’t look that good!

Liked you on FaceBook!
The chenille bedspread. I remember cuddling under those in the summer at my grandparents house.
My memory? Mimi (I’m a Mimi too) fixing Granddaddy’s breakfast when he came back from opening his country store each morning. My uncle went down to work and Granddaddy came back to eat, but I didn’t eat what Mimi cooked, I was busy fixin my pancakes at the hoosier. Golly, I wish I had kept all that stuff my Mama and my Mimi threw out when I was growing up. If I had, I wouldn’t need to win this vintage set of canisters. I’d have my own.
By the way, I already liked you, didn’t need to do it again. Thanks

LOVE you girls! Like you on FB now. Favorite vintage item on Heaven to Betty is the Raggedy Ann Center Piece – totally had one at my 6th bday party! wow. Favorite g’pa memory – sitting on the sceened-in back porch on one of those OLD metal gliders smelling the smoke from his pipe and eating fresh strawberries from his garden. (sigh) The canisters are AMAZING – would look so sweet in my kitchen.
Lots of good things on her site, but my favorite are the canisters. They would look great in my vintage kitchen. Thanks for offering this giveaway.
How could I not respond to a question about my favorite memory of my grandmother?? Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it…and two things come to mind. When I was a little girl, my Mimi and I would spend hours at her piano, playing Heart & Soul. And the one thing she passed down to me before her passing in 2007, ironically, was a canister from her kitchen…a ceramic one, labeled, “Cookies”, accented in copper, that her mother gave to her in the early 1950′s. I loved getting treats from that canister when I was little, little, little, little! Ahhh…sweet memories. Thanks!
I really like the orange coffee can…would look great in my kitchen. One memory of my grandparents would be the sound of her pressure cooker in her kitchen. Every Sunday after church we would go over to eat Sunday dinner and the black eyed peas would be “chugging” away in her kitchen. My Granny was a terrific country cook and I miss being at her house on Sundays. She would also hide in the hall closet playing hide and seek with us. Thanks for making me remember those times with her.
So I am completely obsessed with games! And I especially love vintage games because I love to imagine families playing the same games, just vintage and way back when
(Reminds me of Leave it to Beaver). I have several vintage games and dream of one day decorating with them—ho hum, oh the days when I get around to doing what I’ve always wanted. Anyways, her Bunny Rummy vintage game is adorable—I especially love the kids (they remind me of Brite music). Plus, to tie it all together some of my favorite memories with my grandmother include playing Yahtzee and Hi-Ho Cherrio (the older editions of course) and learning at a young age how an old women would still cheat to win
Silly “gramma”. We still tease her for her sneaky ways.
I want that vintage skipper! I also love the ready to frame witch print!

We used to go over my grandparents house in the summer when we were little (my moms parents) because they had a pool. Had some wonderful times there. My biggest memories though are my grandpa’s stories. He was the smartest man. He did when I was in middle school, and I never got a chance to truly appreciate all of his knowledge. He was born in Ireland, lived in an orphanage, was enlisted in the British Army & eventually met my grandma in London. Then they moved to NY when my mom was 2 & later to Detroit. Being a scrapbooker, I really feel like I missed out on so much. He loved to tell stories, and I hardly remember them. He was even the one that taught me how to use computers, I used to love to designs and print those banners on those really old printers. There wasn’t even internet then, lol.

Man oh man, I wish I could afford to buy that bedspread! It’s beeeeeeautiful!
A favorite (and rather gross) memory of Grandpa brings fits of the giggles every time it’s mentioned. Grandpa, aka “Doc” was a real country vet. He had a set up in his back yard for giving cattle their injections. Not knowing what it was or for, my sister starting picking all the flaky stuff off of the boards one day. After she had cleared most of one side, she asked Grandpa what it was she was picking at. He explained what the whole contraption was used for then told her how when you stuck the needle into the cow, it usually let fly with a startled squirt of poo. Turns out she was picking dried cow poo off of the boards. I’ll never forget her face or how fast she ran into the house to wash her hands!
Love that vintage orange coffee canister.

ALTHOUGH, I might be TEMPTED to cut it up and make throw pillows out of it *gasp*. I also love vintage children’s books! My grandparents lived in a big old house on their farm in southern IL. When I was about 5 years old I was sitting at the kitchen table coloring. My grandma was walking past the back door pushing her walker. Suddenly she stomped her foot and then bent over to pick something up. When I looked up she was dangling a mouse by its tail! She was a tough old broad…
I remember standing next to her at the kitchen counter, making biscuits. I remember this adorable, piggy cookie jar she had. I remember her cutting doors and windows into big boxes and drawing window boxes and funriture, so we could crawl in and play house. I remember wearing her fancy shoes to clomp around the house. I remember having the best grandmother ever.
I like the chenille bedspread. Thanks for entering me. My mom had a set just like this she bought in 1950 when she married. She had the matching salt and pepper shakers and the grease can. These bring back so many memories.
My paternal grandparent died one before I was born and one when I was young so I never knew them. My maternal grandparents I saw rarely. I guess the 1st memory is the rare trips we made to see them was as you walked in their little kitchen was a panrty behind the door. In it was an old saladmaster cookie jar with penguins etched on the side. Grandmother always told me to get what I wanted out of it. Usually all that was ever in it was stale butter cookies with a marshmallow coconut top. It didn’t matter, they were sweet and grandmother let me have them. I still remember that so well today.

She had a game she played with my sister and I; my sister and I would write “secret” messages to her that were backwards and could only be read in a mirror and we’d write her messages like “you are a poopy-head” and after she’d read them she’d chase us throughout the house pretending she was so angry with us. Many times my mother would come to pick us up after work and we’d beg to spend the night. Those nights my grandmother would make popcorn and we’d watch movies with blankets spread out all over the floor.
Oh my! I love glass containers, probably kinda weird so that would be my number one. (Glass jar with wood lid) I also like the melamine plates.
Liked on facebook! I thought I had already… but good thing I checked!

I remember sooo many things with all my grandparents… My Gramma Arlene I think of yogurt and bible stories, the easy bake oven and multiple tea sets she used to get for me to collect, and the vintage thing I remember were her canisters were owls!
Gramma Bev I think of going to the zoo or movies, and books, tons and tons of books! Halloween trick-or-treating was always with her.
Finally, I think of my Choo-Choo Gramma (actually my great-grandmother) whom had toy trains and a toy wood rocking chair with kitty playing with yarn ball in it. I think of roller skating and Smokey the Bear (the HUGE Black dog)…
I hope I can win these canisters! Would be nice to have for my new apartment instead of the current ice cream bucket, plastic coffee canister, small tupperware set up for my flour, sugar and such!
Love the orange coffee can……its a must have!!!
My grandfather used to sing when he came home from work….I loved it!!
I am LOVING the Vintage – Halloween Decorations — Two Ghosts – 1985 – how cute are those!?
