Toddler Boy Room on a Budget

Toddler Boy Room on a Budget

When my little boy outgrew his nursery, I knew I wanted a room that was clean, simplistic, and ‘sweet’. A classic looking room was important to me because I know that in the near future, I will have absolutely NO say in how his room looks. Spongebob, Sports Themes, or Barney {gag} will undoubtedly take over. But not while I have a say! -My husband and I argued discussed this topic for hours because he wanted a ‘BOYish’ room and I wanted a ‘sweet’ room (which my husband thought was going to look ‘sissy’). Well, I won. {Surprise!} –And, for the record, my husband loves it…

Toddler Boy Room on a Budget The grand total spent on this room (excluding main furniture) was under $150.

Creating an adorable room on a budget can be fun! Plus ‘making’ a few items, makes the room all the more special. Here are a few breakdowns of this room…

1. Rocking Horse.  Thrift Store Find for $20. I sanded it down, pulled out the nasty yarn hair, and painted it.

2. Bookshelf. Craigslist {i love craigslist} $10. Did nothing to it.

3. Stars, Growth Chart, and “B”. Crafting Projects. Spent under $20 for all three.

4. Bedding. Restoration Hardware {gasp,..don’t worry,..I got it on a mega sale} $70.

5. Frames. Michaels. $30.

I’m working on photographing my twin girls nursery…hopefully I’ll get that posted soon.

This is one of the first (and by far cutest)I have found that is not super “Kiddish” or overly themed which is exactly what I have been looking for! Where did you find those cute star hooks?
