The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a reason to celebrate! It has been a favorite since my childhood and now is a favorite of my children.  I love when stories and art become timeless. This past week, I noticed special attention being paid to this classic book. After a little research, I found that this book has earned an official: The Very Hungry Caterpillar Day, March 2oth!

Considering my love for this story, I was ecstatic when MyChronicleBooks released personalized products featuring artwork from The Very Hungry Caterpillar.Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (22)

I had gone to Hungry Caterpillar heaven finding Birthday cards, placemats, lunch boxes, baby books and more! So what did I do? Threw a party of course!!!Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (23)Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (24)

This little caterpillar balloon guy sure makes me happy. Made the kids squeal too! 😉Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (18)IMG_0283 copy

Okay, cuteness overload coming right up. I wish I had the talented to make these beauties, but in all honesty, the cupcakes came from the supermarket and the fondant toppers came from Sugared Up.Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (4)Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (5)Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (12)Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (7)

You can also get FREE Hungry Caterpillar printable cupcake or straw toppers directly from MyChronicleBooks HERE.

For an activity, the kids used clay to make their own “Very Hungry Caterpillars”. Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (9) Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (10)

And since we had very hungry little people, the kids used straws to create holes in their party food. Their personalized placemats were a hit! Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (20)Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (19)IMG_0131_zpse7093c9d copy

Wait for it… The Hungry Caterpillar cookies. The cherry pie with the hole in the middle is my favorite! I could have attempted to make these beauties, but they would NOT have turned out like this. Sugar T’s Cookies whipped these together for me.Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (13)Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (14)Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (15)Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (16)

And of course my twin girls needed to be dressed for such an occasion! I’m thinking I could have pulled off one of these too. 😉Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (17)untitled-3 copyShelley Hungry Caterpillar party (8)

I love that my little man had Personalized Thank You Cards ready to be written in. (Oh I how I love 5 year old scratch writing. Stop growing up little man).Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (21)

My favorite Personalized gifts for kids is this lunchbox. My little Noah has turned it into his personalized treasure box. I keep having to dump out his small toys and hide it in the kitchen. Sweet boy.Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (11) Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (1)

This really is such a fabulous site for Personalized books and gifts for kids. I about melted when I saw the personalized journal for baby’s first year. Can someone have a baby shower soon so I can gift another one of these? What a treasure.Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (3) Shelley Hungry Caterpillar party (2)

Everything is so incredibly adorable! I love that in addition to all the professional design elements, you have included the balloon arrangement and ice cream cone caterpillar because I really believe anyone could pull those off with flying colors even if they don't think they're artistic or crafty.

      Jennfier says:
Oooh, very cute. I love the clay caterpillar craft and the "hole-y" fruit. The barrettes are adorable, too - but I have 3 boys! The personalized invitations and placemats are absolutely wonderful, but way over my budget for a child's birthday party. I found some free Hungry Caterpillar party ideas and printables here: Some are specific to a first birthday party, but many can be easily adapted to a party for kids of any age.
