Gorgeous Room Makeover Reveal

Remember when I first introduced you to my office? Can I even call it an office? It was so bare, so plain, so uninspiring. Paralyzed by my fear of choosing a paint color, I neglected this space that held so much potential.

That was until I discovered Chip It!, a program that saved this room and helped me select a color palette from a photo online! I chose to go with this color inspiration:

Gorgeous Room Makeover Reveal

With this palette, I was able to bring life into this space once again.

Now, are you ready to see the much improved office?

Drum roll, please …

Gorgeous Room Makeover Reveal

Gorgeous Room Makeover Reveal

Can I just say transformation?

Once I chose my Chip It! color scheme, I headed over to a Sherwin-Williams store and chose an accent color for the wall. Inspired by the Faraway Blue in the palette, I chose a slightly darker color called Breaktime. Wanting to brighten the room, I painted the ceiling and moldings a white color called Creamy.

Opening that fresh can of paint and rolling the first stroke of color onto the wall was all so scary yet freeing, as I finally committed to a color!

Next, I wanted to find a piece of furniture that brought in some vintage element to balance the modern elements in the room. I also wanted to create a space where I could get away and read. So I found this lovely couch:

… and this lovely fabric.

… and had it upholstered to look like this:

Can you see the colors from the Chip It! palette?

I added framed photos, quotes and words, all inspired by the colors from the palette.

I call this my inspiration wall.

Still wanting a place to create, I decided to keep the desk but moved it to the empty wall where two chairs used to be.

I hung some metal frames that I filled with a few instagram photos.

I also couldn’t resist buying this bright piece of art because the words resonated with me and because it just happened to have the right colors.

Can you see the colors from my color scheme?

On the accent wall, I added shelving to display my vintage camera collection and other meaningful items. Once again, I used colors from my palette to guide me.

Does "my whole house" count as a room? :)

If I *had* to pick a room, I'd go with the master bedroom. It's got amazing potential--high, vaulted ceiling, lots of windows... and amazing drawbacks--like a full wall of mirrored closet doors. Ugh.

If I could pick more than just one room, my whole first floor is pretty much open, and there are some weird neutral tones going on. 3 walls in each room are the same color, with the 4th a little bit off... and none of the colors are the same from room-to-room, in spite of the fact that the space is pretty wide open. Double ugh! And the color weirdness carries up the stairs and into the landing at the top of the stairs and into the bathroom. Chip It would help me pick some intentionally complementary colors, rather than just taking every shade of brown-cream-taupe-off white and slapping them up willy nilly.

I have an entire house that needs help as we anticipate remodeling in the future. I have a difficult time selecting colors as well. In our last house, we painted all the rooms a neutral white after seeing a house in which every room was a different wallpaper(LOL!). We haven't done anything significant in our home while raising our girls. Now that they're out of the house, we want to re-do bathrooms and kitchen. I also would like to dedicate one bedroom for my sewing and I need all the help I can get!

Ooooo so exciting. We have a den that needs a total makeover. Having had three kids in 4 years, we have just never finished the den. We play there, work there, and relax in there. We started with a tropical theme and then started to change the color scheme a little....well, now we have a half-painted den with some great couches and primed fireplace. We definitely need some direction (in color) to finish this place.

Wow, where do I start. First of all, I saw the video on how the "chip it" tool works and LOVE it. I'll be putting that tool on my lap top, for sure. Now, which room needs a face lift? Any and all of them. I bought my townhouse 2.5 years ago and all the walls are white. Would I love color? Absolutely. I haven't done anything about the walls because I can't even begin to figure out what the colors should be. The Chip It tool will be quite helpful. Of course financing in another issue, so winning this fabulous prize would be truly appreciated. Thank you for the opportunity. Off to post a blog about this new tool!! :)

I have a TV/Media room that needs redecorating. I love the view from the second story window, and I love that my TV is not in the living room, but away from areas where family and friends gather. That way, there's no distraction when we gather to talk and spend time with each other. Unfortunately, my seating needs updating, (It's actually an old futon from my apartment days and painful to sit on anymore), and I want some stimulating color to update the room. I hope I win so I can finally finish this room and enjoy it.

I would love to paint my laundry room. And the kids bathroom. They are both white and boring.

It's hard to pick just one room! I always want the style but never have the funds to fulfill my ideas:( my main fixer upper project would be the living room. That is the room everyone sees and notices. I absolutely love the chip it tool and would really enjoy doing a modern/contemporary style for our living room. We have a sectional, recliner, rug, and some ransoms but I want it to be amazing!!!! Plain Jane doesn't tickle my fancy:) please help me!!!
