Start a Preschool Curriculum Package GIVEAWAY!

August 5, 2011 by

UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed.

Congrats to the lucky winner, Becky Waganer, who said, “This would help my granddaughter be smarter then she already is! (Takes after her Gammie!)”  :)

Thank you to everyone for participating!!

If there’s one thing we love, it’s Joy Anderson’s FUNDAMENTALS Preschool Curriculum Package For Toddlers!  We’re so excited she’s offering another opportunity to win it in this week’s giveaway!  One lucky HowDoesShe reader will win this amazing curriculum package which includes over 500 pages of curriculum lesson plans and activities that are perfect for parents of young children ages 2-6, preschool teachers, and child care providers.

Not only does this package have 9 months worth of activity-rich, theme-based lesson plans, but it also has hundreds of pages of printables, Pre-K worksheets, and extra activities also available on the CD-ROM.  The 36 fun themes include: Astronomy, Baking, Caterpillars, holidays and more!  (Total retail value: $97!)  This would be so perfect for my little girl who far too often is learning in front of the TV {gasp, I know, I know}.

When Joy emailed us about becoming a HowDoesShe sponsor, we hopped over to her Start A Preschool website to see what it was all about.  She won us over immediately!  She has the most contagious personality and I am fairly certain that she would be the funnest preschool teacher ever! Her past giveaways with us have been such a HUGE success, we were so pleased she wanted to sponsor another one for you gals!

Lucky for the Treasure Valley, Joy has her own preschool.  Her spots fill up ridiculously fast, so she is also helping other stay at home moms start their own successful home preschools.  Joy Anderson has taught thousands of women how to start their own preschool (not a daycare) in their home and make a supplemental or full-time income by teaching preschool classes to children ages 3-5.

She’s been asked by so many women to teach them how to start a preschool that she put together her best 7 SECRETS To Starting A Preschool In Your Home… and is giving them away on a FREE CD!  She’ll teach you exactly how to start your own home preschool!  How cool is that?!  Make sure to go over to her website to score your FREE CD too!  If this is something you want to learn about, Joy is the one you want to learn it from.  She might even have some great tips for us young moms who do rotational preschool swap groups with our friends. :)

  621. Amanda says:

#1 my earliest memory – for some reason I will never forget a parade that we did in Kindergarden and I was the ‘angel’ in the wagon. 642. Gena says:

  643. Ashley C says:

I love the idea of being able to teach my daughter without sending her to daycare! I’ve been stressing about starting a better educational program with her, this is perfect!

  644. Gena says:

  653. Traci says:

#4 – Hi, it’s me again, full time working mom of 2 year old twins. My abreviated story…twins almost delivered at 24 weeks, finally delivered at 32 weeks. They were very sick and in the NICU for 2 months. Now, 2 years old, they are thriving, smart, well mannered kids with GREAT personalities. {not that I’m biased or anything}. But I credit this to our nanny who left us just 3 weeks ago :( She was a kindergarden teacher prior to working for us and was AWESOME with the twins. Our new nanny, not as creative, excited or educated on how to educate…if that makes sence. This would be an amazing opportunity for me to be able to assist our new nanny in pushing forward with their education…otherwise my alternative is preschool.

  654. Lee Ann says:

I work at an Adult Day Care Center and think this program would be an awesome addition to teaching our young adults some great beginning skills!

  661. Comment 4: Plus, it would be a lot of fun to be able to teach children my daughters age. She still has 2 more years before kindergarten and it is killing her since her brother just started kindergarten. =)

I remember the first day I dropped my youngest (20 months) off at daycare at 10 weeks. I was so impressed because the in-home provider does so much for her kids. My daughter has come to love her as another grandmother and is learning so much. I am glad that I got her into an in-home center that is a preschool/daycare and that I am able to drop my baby off and have peace of mind all the time.

This would help convince friends that in-home preschool isn’t daycare!

  740. 1. My earliest memory from school is…the whole class was watching a movie and we were eating a snack too. My snack was an apple. 771. stephanie miller says:

my sister works as an atty, and my mom is retired. since preschool wasnt available for my daughters, my mom watched them and we didnt have much materials to work with, i would like my nephew to have a better organized program!

My earliest memory of school was when I was in the 3rd grade and the first day of school was on my birthday. My teacher Ms. Jager made sure to give me special attention by letting me be in the front the line for lunch & recess and wearing a special “It’s my birthday” button. My mom also brought in homemade (yes, it was when it was still o.k. to bring homemade treats to school) cookies decorated like Cookie Monster and Big Bird. Awwhh.. to be a kid again!

  888. Kehau says:

My earliest memory of school was in the first grade. I was attending our local catholic elementary and I remember one of my classmates being sent into the closet and getting hit with a ruler for misbehaving. Thankfully, my mom sent me back to the wonderful public school before I was ever sent to the closet.

  889. Kehau says:

  897. Andrea says:

My earliest memory is a presentation for parents where each kid represented a letter. I was Z. I have no idea what we did, I just remember the t-shirt with a Z and a zebra on it!

  898. Holly says:

My first memory is from preschool. A cute boy I had a crush on and myself would go around snatching the other kid’s toys all in the name of being the Pittsburgh “Stealers”. I promise I have learned to share!

  899. Holly says:

    I love getting your newsletter!

  900. Holly says:

I truly admire preschool teachers and think it could be a good opportunity!

  901. Holly says:

This package would really motivate me with my fifth child. My energy isn’t quite the same as it was with the oldest ones! :)

  902. Holly says:

    Preschool rocks!

  903. Holly says:

Winning is cool too! Pick me! :)

  904. Marilyn says:

My first memory of school was needing to go to a little girl’s house to help “drag” her to school because she hated it and would cry! LOL

  905. Karla says:

1 – Since I did not attend pre-school, my earliest school memory would have to be a toss up between finger painting in kindergarten or cutting my hair ribbon with a pair of scissors and blaming it on the boy who sat beside me. I don’t think we were ever friends after that point.

  906. Karla says:

2 – Already signed up; which is how I learned about this giveaway. c:

  907. Karla says:

3 – Some of my best memories come from when I attended a stay-at-home mom’s daycare when I was a child and I am still friends with all the other children who attended with me, even after all these years. But I would have to say that with the standards students are expected to meet in schools now-a-days, the need for a pre-school heavily outweighs a simple daycare but having it in a home environment promotes more security for children (which promotes greater learning).

  908. Karla says:

4 – I have my degree for early childhood education, but even with completing school the jobs are still slim pickings in my surrounding areas. The education system is taking a dip and I still need to find a job in my chosen career field. If I could start up my own pre-school, that would be an absolute dream come true.

  909. Jessica says:

I dont really remember preschool to much but I remember being so excited to go to kindergarten and wondering why my mom was crying.

  910. Jessica says:

i get your newsletter of course.

  911. Jessica says:

I really need some structure to teaching my 3 you old who also learns the most from TV

  912. Karla says:

5 – Though I don’t have children yet, I already know the value of being able to spend quality time with them. I also value a quality educational foundation. If I could open my own pre-school and teach I would know that there are children who would be getting the necessary foundation and that my children, when I have them, would be able to have the same one day.

  913. Jessica says:

I wish I had the patient to teach preschool but I can barely handle my 2 kids.

  914. Jessica says:

I really want to win this or I am going to have to convince my husband that I NEED to buy it.

  915. Jessica says:

    yeah 6 entries pick me!

  916. Karla says:

6 – I love how genuine and honest Joy is and that she is willing to go that extra mile to help other women who are struggling to make ends-meet. If everyone could be this way, our world would be a much better place. Wishful thinking, I suppose. But I would certainly help out whoever I could if I had my own pre-school. Money isn’t all that important to me; but ensuring children receive a quality education is. After all, they are the future.

  917. Melissa says:

My earliest memory of school is also a costume…in preschool we dressed up as the alphabet and I was a fly for “F”. The costume was pretty amazing (they used them year-to-year) and there was another little girl who followed me around and swatted me with a huge fly-swatter :)

  918. Melissa says:

#2 I’m already a follower and love it!

  919. Melissa says:

#3 My son’s teacher from last year just started a preschool, and when I looked into it for my 4-yr-old, my husband said, “Maybe you should start a preschool.”

  920. Melissa says:

#4 I had already decided to homeschool our 4-yr-old this year, and this curriculum would be a great help!

  921. Melissa says:

#5 I have also tried home sales companies, like Longaberger, Southern Living, and Usborne, and while I love the products, I don’t want to put in the time required to make big money, and leave my children w/ a babysitter while I do parties! So I just ended up supporting my own shopping habits!

  922. Melissa says:

    #6 Wow! I hope I win this!

  923. Mellissa says:

My earliest memory from school is when my 1st grade teacher wouldn’t let me hold my pencil the way I wanted to. She made me so angry!

  924. Mellissa says:

I am already signed up for your newsletter! :D

  925. Mellissa says:

I would love the curriculum package because I’m interested in starting a homeschool preschool with my youngest, but I have no idea where to start!

  926. Mellissa says:

Starting a preschool might even interest me once my baby (due sept.) is older.

  927. Mellissa says:

I never did preschool with my oldest, we just sort of winged it with the abc’s and 123′s, and she’s doing just fine in school now. But I have less time now that I have more kids and a curriculum would be SO helpful.

  928. Mellissa says:

Alright, six entries. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  929. Natalie Nelson says:

I would love it. I love doing preschool stuff but I’m runnimg out of ideas.

  930. Michelle says:

My first memory of school was during a joy school – it was my mom’s turn to teach and we went to the farm and milked cows and fed animals – it was awesome!!!!

  931. Michelle says:

I am so signed up for your emails :)

  932. Michelle says:

Preschool can be so expensive and we just don’t have that kind of money – but I really want my little girl to be in preschool and getting into the preschool at the elementary is nearly impossible since they mostly fill it with kids who don’t speak english and this kit would be a huge help in knowing what to do with the kids.

  933. Michelle says:

Joy seems like an amazing person – I bet she is a great teacher

  934. Michelle says:

I’ve talked to some of the moms in my neighbor hood about starting a preschool and it would be wonderful – but what to do??? we have no idea – so we could definitely use this kit to help us out

  935. Michelle says:

I did all the entries – can I please win!!!

  941. tisha w. says:

  942. Samantha Fernandez says:

My earliest memory is a white dress with polka dots, socks with sandals, big bow on side of head, only to have the boy behind me throw up all over his desk and on my shoes. Traumatic.

  943. Samantha Fernandez says:

I am alreday signed up for the emails!
