Bring Springtime indoors with these fun ideas

Hi HowDoesShe Gals!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve just about had it with winter. This has been a record year for snowfall AND freezing temperatures. Yeah. I’m so over it. I am counting down the days until Spring time arrives!! Flowers, grass, birds, WARMTH! I love Spring. I love it enough, that I am not willing to wait until the piles of snow melt to start enjoying some springtime in my home. IShare Crafts has been overflowing with fun and easy home decor projects that are perfect for bringing that little touch of Spring inside – well  before that snow disappears :)

Let’s start with those walls that feel so empty since we put away those Christmas decorations. I’m assuming you HAVE put away your Christmas decorations! Okay, if your walls still have Santa and reindeer all over them, now is the time to switch them out for some springtime fun!

Dress Wall Art

Ballard Dress wall ArtMod Podge Amy always seems to be bursting with amazing home decor projects. This funky patched dress canvas is so easy to make, and can be made to coordinate with absolutely ANY room! Well, maybe not a bachelor pad.

Sunburst Mirror

Sunburst MirrorThe Country Chic Cottage blew me away with this totally unique sunburst mirror. SUNSHINE!! YES! This is a project you could complete in an afternoon, and bring some of that sunshine inside.

Paint Chip ClockPaint Chip Clock

This project is SO awesome. I was amazed by how Amanda’s Crafts made this from…get this…paint chips! So seriously smart. Giving your room a new clock is like giving it a face lift! Who doesn’t want that?

Rounded Bunting

Rounded BuntingOkay, I know that this round bunting from ‘Pick Up Some Creativity’ is in winter colors, but just use your imagination! Make this in some bright yellows, greens, pinks, or purples and you’ll have a gorgeous spring bunting that you can use over and over again!

Now that our walls are smiling, let’s pay some attention to our furniture, shall we? One way to really brighten up a space is to add some fun throw pillows on those sofas! Pick a funky-fresh color of fabric and get busy! Here are three fun pillow tutorials that will bring some color and sunshine into your living room!

Felt Flower Pillow

Felt Flower PillowThis is a pillow that you can make in a couple of hours! I bought the felt from the dollar store, used an inexpensive throw pillow, and gave it a Springtime face lift!

Felt Flower Pillow 2

Felt Flower Pillow Nikkala gives us another version of the felt flower pillow, with the flower AND the pillow made from the same felt fabric! This is sooo pretty!

Sweater PillowSweater PillowAn easy and inexpensive way to add a pop of color in any room is to take an old sweater and put it to good use as a pillow! Amy W. shows us the step-by-step directions. You won’t believe how easy this is!

Finally, we need to dress up our shelves and tables with some warmth and color! Here are a few simple ideas:

Handmade Paper Vases

Handmade Paper VasesTotal Art Soul shows us how to take some handmade paper and create totally unique vases with color, texture, and design! This could be customized to go with any decor, in any room. Add some fresh flowers, and HELLO – Spring time!!

Romantic Tablescape

Romantic tablescapeCraft Test Dummies gives us another variation on the flower vase tablescape using some etching cream! I love how pretty and simple this is.

Glass Clings

Mod Podge Glass ClingsFinally, dress up any shiny surface with some spring time glass clings made from…what else….Mod Podge! This does come from Mod Podge Amy, in case you hadn’t guessed :)

I can not thank you enough for the Sweater Pillow idea. One of my best friends (matron of honor in my wedding) passed away 5 years ago and recently her husband sent all of her close girlfriends a sweater of hers to have. He was so sweet to remember us and wanted us to have something that was special to her (she LOVED clothes). I don't think I will have many opportunities to wear it but want to have it near me all year 'round. I will be making this sweater into a pillow right away. Thank you for helping me keep my friend near and dear all year 'round instead of just during the winter months. (especially since we live in the south - winter is kind of short)!

I tried the link for the felt flower pillow, even registered with ishare and it keeps saying, "error: page not found." Do you have another link for it? I love it and would really like to try it. Thanks!
