A Free What? Giveaway time! A free Silhouette craft cutter…

March 1, 2010 by

***This Giveaway has ended. Congratulations to Jennifer Bradshaw! Check out this post for an amazing HowDoesShe discount code on a Silhouette through the end of March. Thank you for participating in this giveaway!***cutter-1This post will make you glad you found HowDoesShe {{it makes me glad I found HowDoesShe}}!

We are SO excited to share this with you…

You know we {{especially Alison}} love using vinyl to finish off and add a touch of professionalism to crafts.  We have told you about how personal cutters (ie. cricut cutters) are an amazing way to help you craft beautifully for yourself and for gifts which saves you thousands of dollars!

Well, we decided to research other personal cutters and show you what we found.

“I am a hands on gal and I need to see it to believe in it.  I know cutting vinyl can be touchy and getting the blade to cut only the vinyl and not the backer paper can be tricky.  I don’t want half of my letters cut, or my blade to bugger up the vinyl.   I was very happy with how the Silhouette cut!  It was easy to install on my computer and setting up the blades was quick.  I love that I don’t have to buy different cartridges if I want to switch up the look of the craft.  I also am a fan of how big{{or small}} it is.  I know it needs to be hooked up to a computer to design, but there is a slot to hold a SD card so I can take it and use it elsewhere…like craft group or my sister-in-law’s house:)  My cutter has saved me a ton of $$ on gift giving!!!”  -Alison

abc kids decor“I am a party girl. I love the details in throwing a party. Lately I’ve been eying all the gorgeous paper products showing up at celebrations. Once I got my hands on the Silhouette, I was thrilled when I saw all the down loadable templates for scalloped labels, cupcake toppers, cupcake wrappers and more! I grabbed my scrapbook paper and got to work and created the adorable details in our  St. Patty’s Day post.”  -Shelleyst-patricks-day-cupcake-2“I love sparkles!  With the silhouette you can download template designs, adhere the sparkles to the design and then transfer it to whatever you want!  You can personalize clothing, cards, scrapbooks, etc.!  I made a ‘birthday girl’ shirt for my daughter’s birthday coming up – I will post it soon.  I can’t wait to sparkle more things!” – Missy

So…what did we find out?

It works!  It works wonderfully! One of the best things is that you can use fonts off of your computer! Here is our post on our favorite free fonts.

No need to buy cartridges…why didn’t we invent this?

Just a little preview of how the Silhouette Craft Cutter works !cutter-41.  Here is a shot of the program.  My requirement…it needs to be user friendly and something I can figure out without reading the manual…it passed!

cutter-6

2.  Put your medium (vinyl or paper) on the mat and squish it down.  The first time you use it…it is super sticky.   I liked it better after a little stickiness is gone.  Do you see the red and blue dots on the left side above the keyboard?   You put those in the cutter and that determines how deep it will make the cut.  For vinyl I used the yellow one??…it is in the cutter:)

cutter-7

3.  Look at her work!

cutter-5

4.  This is what it looks like after it comes out of the cutter.

cutter-3

5.  Then for the tweezing.  Pull the outside vinyl off and then go back through the letters and pull out the middles of the a’s, r’s, o’s…you get the point.cuttter-26.  USE BACKER PAPER!!!!  If I had to pull each letter off and stick it in a straight line…I’d go crazy.  Backer paper is what you stick over the letters, rub it and then pull the backer paper off lifting the letters with it.  {{Hint:  for small projects you can use masking tape or painters tape}}  Backer paper is just a huge strip of tape!

7.  Place the letters and backer paper on the project.  Rub it again and pull the backer paper off…tada!

I’m pretty sure I’d try all of te uses, but the majority would be for scrapbooking!!

    • I am a registered nurse and work in a local NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). A cute 6×6 card is made for each baby to be hung near the baby’s isolet or crib. Each card has the baby’s name, birth date, birth time, length, weight, and footprints. Each month we make a new card for the babies with all of their updated information. It’s a fun and easy way to see how much each one has grown from the month before. We try to make the cards adorable and memorable knowing that they will be cherished forever. These cards are made by a handful of nurses at home, on our own time. If I win this cutter, I will use it to embellish and “beautify” these much cherished mementos for our babies and their parents. I promise to submit pictures, if anyone is interested in seeing what we make for these precious little “bundles”.

  2. Robyn says:

Ohhhh!!! Could I REALLY finally catch up on my scrapbooking with this awesome machine??? YES!!!!

  3. Martha says:

I liked all the ideas but I think that the Rhinestone feature is super cool, bytheway, super cool giveaway! thanks!

  4. Kelley says:

Oooh! The silhouette sounds awesome! As a fairly new “crafter” I walk the aisles of Michaels and Joanns and browse crafting blogs and websites as I gain inspiration, watch tutorials and try to figure out how to be crafty too! I have tried some crafts using 2×4′s and some church handouts with digital scrapbooking paper. I’m ready to step up my game! If I win the Silhouette, I will probably try EVERYTHING… I wanna see what I can do with a Silhouette! With paper crafting, vinyl lettering, those super cute cupcake papers, heat transfers ( I’m thinking a new tote for me), and I would LOVE to try the etching too. I’m already excited just thinking about the possibilities! Pick me… Pick me!

  5. Sarah says:

I just bought a Cricut–but you can’t bling with it. The ability to rhinestone would be amazing!!

  6. Fran D says:

Wow! Glass etching…..I know I would be able to create beautiful etchings if the designs were all mine!

  7. Linda Carter says:

I think I would use if for everything except the rhinestones. Although, I’m sure I’d eventually get around to trying that too. I’ve been wanting one of these forever. Thank you!!!

  8. kathy s says:

Oh my – thank goodness I found your web site- I would certainly love to win this fantastic Silhouette machine- I can’t decide on 1 of the 7 sections I would use this on so I will let you know what i would use it for if I am indeed fortunate enough to win -my DH would be very happy if I could cut through vinyl for him to make some signage for our local fire brigade group-it would be cheaper than the companaies charge us when we have to update and we are all volunteers, I would be able to make other things with the vinyl section to- pictures for my grandchildren to place on their walls and be able to change when they tire of them, I could personalise all our drinkware so when we go away or have get togethers we know which are ours I could also do delightful personalized things for gifts throughtout the year- like the fish bowl, I work in the food technology section of a couple of secondary colleges so would be able to use it to make eyecatching displays for the students to learn from using either paper or vinyl, although I don’t do much scrapbooking I have some older family portraits that I could embellish with the Silhouette cut outs to enhance and show a bit of the lives these people had years ago,I am a card maker so this would open another whole dimension for me being able to cut what I want when I want it without having to buy a heap of individual dies- so expensive-, again I would also use it to make paper dolls and other unique paper toys for my grandchildren, I would also be able to use it to make heat transfers, cut outs of pics of my grandchildren so my children could use them for gifts, and who doesnt like bling- this design element is a first for me I would never have thought of using it for rhinestones- this could jazz up mine and my friends wardrobes no end. I have been looking at a much more expensive machine so this would be so good to win- thanks for the chance

  9. Sandy in Fort Worth says:

I would use this for cardmaking and heat transfers, although I would give everything a trial run. How cool to design something on your computer and then cut it out on the Silhouette.

    I enjoy visiting your site.

    Thanks,
    Sandy in Fort Worth

  10. Trisha says:

WOW….that’s all I can say. I LOVE that it connects to your computer, so the fonts/images are limitedless. I know exactly what would be my first project if I win this amazing machine—glass etching wine glasses. A large group of us ‘girls’ are turning 40 soon. We have been saving for years to all go and celebrate our big year in Napa…with some wine and relaxation! I have been thinking of a unique and classy gift I could make to represent this special occasion. I know each ‘girl’ would love a wine glass etched w/ her own name (or initals) and birthdate, maybe even a candle or cake, too?! AWW, maybe even a 1/2 carafe to match, what do you think? :o ) I also noticed the rhinestone feature—VERY cool! Hum, maybe I could make some personalized eye pillow/mask w/ rhinestones for each of us….WOW, I’m thinking of so many possibilites—for just ONE party, couldn’t imagine how much I could do for all the parties. :o )….What a great contest! Thanks for having it!

  11. Kathryn Gerwien says:

Scrapbooking, scrapbooking, scrapbooking!!! I love to scrapbook and I would use the silhouette for that. After going to the website and looking around it looks amazing!!!

  12. sarah dybash says:

What a great give away! I would probably alternate between paper crafting and heat transfers. It would be interesting to incorporate the Sillhouette into quilting and stencil making too.

  13. Paper Crafting would be my number one reason. But then I saw Rhinestones and thought…what? So, I checked it out and I admit I was a little bit blown away. Wow! So glad I found your site; yes, I subscribed and I’m following you on Twitter. Thanks so much for the opportunity!

  14. annie says:

I have been glass etching for a LONG time. I always have to go to the local copy store to get the etching done. This is something I would LOVE to do with the Silhouette. I am also interested in heat transfer on t-shirts. And I love the card making. The vinyl decor is something I would also do. I used to work in an art and framing shop and we made vinyl signs that are still all over town. I learned to LOVE playing with this and sort of miss it since I no longer work there. OH, as I look at all it can do, I can’t think of one of those seven that I wouldn’t do. I LOVE LOVE *LOVE* this machine. <3
And if I win, I would be a friend for life and probably go back and constantly purchase supplies from this supplier. YIKES how did you do this to me? Now I want to take on some more hobbies!
PS I get you in Google reader, so I am a follower and subscriber. :D
thanks for your MOST GENEROUS OFFER. *sigh*

  15. Melinda Wilson says:

I would use it for SCRAPBOOKING!!!!!!!! Then I would try the vinyl lettering for my scrapbook room!

  16. LaDona says:

Wow! I love that machine! I think I would use it for vinyl first & then I would have to try the rest!!!

  17. Erin H says:

I would love to use this for all of it’s purposes. I have quite a few friends that aren’t the craftiest people and are always coming to me to create things. With this machine I would be able to not only satisfy their wants and needs but allow me to explore and experiment with more fun ideas.

  18. I would love to use this machine. I would use if for the vinyl decor and scrapbooking.

  19. Sandra Moak says:

I so love what you can do with the Silhouette Cutter!!! I didn’t have just one favorite…vinyl decor, heat transfer, glass etching…I want to try it all:)

  20. KK says:

Wow! Such a fun machine! I’ve often wondered how people made those cool wall sayings and whatnot. That’s exactly what I would do with it. Not only at my own house but I would start with the sorority house where I volunteer as the Chapter Advisor. It’s a non-profit organization that has nearly zero funds in a decorating budget but those amazingly smart girls would be so tickled if I came in an jazzed up the place for them this summer. And then I would make fun sayings for my house and friends homes as gifts as I just think they are so fun!

  21. Sam says:

My wife mentioned this giveaway and I wanted to comment for her. She would love to have the Silouhette Craft Cutter. She works part-time and stays at home with our 1-year-old. She loves to create things in her spare time, but is limited with her resources. This would be an awesome opportunity for her to explore more creative opportunities. I went to the website and I think she would be most interested in using the craft cutter for vinyl. I can see her putting vinyl quotes and letters all over our house!

  22. Amie says:

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE the glass etching! and the rhinestone part isn’t too bad either! I could do so much with it, I could stop borrowing my mother in laws! I definitely Love the paper crafting the most! I really love working with paper, you can make anything with paper.
Thank you so much for the chance to win,
    Amie

  23. Becky G. says:

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for!!! Where do I begin on what I would use this for. I homeschool my 4 children so this would come in handy for all the projects we do not to mention save on time so we have more time to do more projects:) I also have a large extended family that I am always trying to come up with creative gifts for. I’m also very active in my church doing projects for them. Our church is rebuilding our nursery and when they are finished I’ll be doing alot of the lettering on the walls and art work so this would help out alot. With the old nursery building I did all the art work and writing and well… lets just say trying to do all that with paint and small children ended one day with me plus youngest child covered in black paint. Well I could go on and on with the possibilities for me having this wonderfull tool on hand but I think I’ve made my point.PLEEEEASE PICK ME PICK ME!!!!!!! Ok I’m really done now:)

  24. Tricia Hilgersom says:

I would for sure use it for Vinyl!! I would really like to make something for my front door!! Fingers Crossed!!!

  25. Jennifer E. says:

OMG, what a fantastic machine! I have thought about getting a cricut machine but the cartridges are crazy expensive!! How can you pick just one cool thing to do with all that the Silhouette is capable of? I was sold when the rhinestone video popped up! Since the rules are to pick one project, I would say my first project would be the vinyl lettering for personalized coasters that I sell. Then I would move on to the glass etching for toasting glasses for BOTH OF MY SISTER’S WEDDINGS this year!!!!! Then maybe heat tranfers for some fun summer clothes for my babies! Oh, now I’m getting carried away with my excitement! Today was my first visit to your site and it is wonderful….Thank you for sponsering such a great give-a-way! Can’t wait to see what else ya’ll come up with!!!

  26. Brittany says:

awesome giveaway….i’ve been wanting to buy one of these. i keep hinting to my husband since my birthday is coming up!! :) i would totally use it for vinyl decor and some paper crafting. thanks for your awesome website. i get all your emails!!

  27. Shanna says:

Ok, I know that I have left a comment already, but I must say that since I just saw your rhinestone “balloon bg” shirts….I would LOVE to be able to do this!! It is AMAZING!! How much fun could I have with my daughter with this? I will tell you….TONS of FUN! Again, keeping my fingers crossed that I will be the winner! :)

  28. amy h says:

I’d definitely use it for scrapbooking and card making. :) I love the use of words and letters of scrapbook pages, so that is what I would use it for. Thanks for the chance!

  29. Brooke says:

First I would make the ABC wall decor for my kids play room. Then my husband would have me make all his logos for his new business he wants to start. Ohh how fun. Hope I win! :)

  30. Nicole says:

My husband an I were just talking the other day about etching our class casserole dishes or sending them as gifts. We got one with our last name on the bottom and I take it for pot lucks at work because there is no question about who it belongs too. It is great!!

  31. Steph says:

I would use the Sillhouette for everything. I loved everyone of the ideas. this machine is wonderful. the possibility’s are endless as to all the fun things I would love to do .

  32. Shannon says:

Wow, I’m in love!! The possibilities are endless with a Silhouette. I would use it for EVERYTHING…scrapbooking, card making, vinyl lettering, glass etching etc. I’m a stay-at-home to 3 (soon to be 4) kiddos, who would love to use this for school projects and 4-H. I really believe that “to those who have been given much, much is expected.” Therefore, I would also love to share it with family, friends, church family, school teachers and more. What a great way to build relationships through the use of an amazing little machine!!

  33. Joyce Allred says:

My 2 daughters love to do any type of craft project, so I’d like to win this to share with them. I think the possibilities with the vinyl are endless!

  34. Francine says:

Wow! What a tremendous giveaway! I am a die hard scrapbooker, so I will definitely be using it for that! But I can also see myself using it with vinyl for wall decor.

  35. Aleisa Moses says:

Even if I do not win the Sillhouette this is just about the coolest machine ever and I will have to invest in one. I have been really thinking about vinyl machines-the one my friend has is the size of a piano keyboard! I would love to make fun t-shirts, and other crafty gifts for my friends using vinyl, glass sketching, etc…I wish I had a fish just so I could etch his name on the bowl! How awesome is that?!

  36. Teri says:

I would probably use it most often for paper crafting. I have been dying to cut out some butterflies to put on the wall and wreathes, but since I don’t have a cutter of any king, it seems like to much work to do with scissors. I also love the heat transfers. What a fun idea.

  37. Amy Farmer says:

I would definitely use something like this. I can’t pick just one thing. I know I would use it for scrapbooking but I would love to do some etching and some vinyl lettering!

  38. Amber C says:

The real question is how would I *not* use it?! I think at the moment I would use it on vinyl. I want to put up some really cool sayings and quotes around my house with the vinyl but don’t want to spend the money for someone else to cut it out for me. After that I’d use it on everything! Cards, scrapbooks, decorations for parties….. I would use it all the time!

  39. Melissa says:

I’ve been eyeing this machine for awhile… I’d use it to make vinyl art for my walls, for etching glass, and for hybrid scrapbooking projects (cupcake wrappers, gift boxes, etc.). I also read that some people use it to decorate cakes, so I’d have to look into that as well!

  40. kelly wakefield says:

This is the coolest crafting tool I’ve seen! I would start using it for making cards and scrapbooking but would probably progress into using it for school projects & fun projects for our swim club kids (we have parties and this would help make them so much more special!)

  41. Kari says:

I would use the vinyl and etching options from this awesome machine!! I am moving to a rental home and what better way to make it feel like your own place than put up cute vinyl decor and quotes!? (i understand they are removable) Cut and apply…and voila! A cute, stylish and fun way to make it feel like you belong!
I have also wanted to try the etching idea for years…and my first attempt would be at decorating a mirror for Christmas gifts!! How fun, and money saving too!
    Thanks for this great giveaway!

  42. Caitlin says:

Oh my goodness! I would be so happy and grateful if I won this wonderful machine! My husband is in the Air Force, and we live in the housing provided for military personnel, so that means no paint on the walls! I try to do what I can with artwork and wall decor, but I would love to use the Silhouette for cutting vinyl to add life to my plain Jane walls! I love to craft and scrapbook, and I make a lot of what we decorate with due to a limited budget, and this machine I think would bring so much more to what I’m able to do! I would also use it for the scrapbooking, and I think the etching would be a fun new thing to try! It all looks so great! Thanks for the great opportunity to enter!

  43. Plavixo says:

What an awesome giveaway! I think I’d use it most for paper crafting – the bunting and the snowflake decoration on the website look great and I’m sure I can find lots other of cool stuff that the silhouette can do!

  44. Jenny says:

Of course it’s hard to pick one area…but I’d mostly use it for paper crafting and scrapbooking. I already own a commercial sized vinyl cutter, but it doesn’t cut paper, so that’s why I’d love a Silhouette!

  45. sweetmango says:

WOW! so many things you can do with it.. from vinyl to heat transfer to glass etching….

But if I could pick one I would like to do the vinyl.
    Thanks

  46. gail says:

i love vinyl! but i would also use it for cards, glass etching and scrapping. so fun! thanks for offering this giveaway =)

  47. Susan Pennington says:

Hi!!! When I saw this free give away I was so excited because it would be a great tool to use when I scrapbook. I also looked at the other ways to use it and I liked the card making and the rhinestones. It would be awesome to win this silhouette craft cutter! I love the idea of making art for the wall, as we are in a rental while I finish school. This would just be AMAZING!!!!

  48. I would definitely use it for vinyl and I’d love to try out the glass etching. This machine looks awesome! I’ve been doing lots of little projects and this would be AMAZING!!! thanks for all you guys do!

  49. K athy Luman says:

I love the etching you can do as projects. I would also like to make homemade cards and heat transfers.

  50. Christie says:

I am fascinated with its ability to make templates for glass etching! I would do that and it would be great for elegant, personalized gifts. Money saving!

  51. Barbara says:

I would use the Silhouette to cut out educational materials for my disabled son. I currently use a craft knife to cut large letters and animal shapes for him. I would cut out cardboard letters to help him learn to read, make tactile story books with the tactile heat transfer and make a giant times-table to help him with math.
I would also use the Silhouette in my small business to create gifts for clients, using the etching cream. I would buy glass plates and vases at the dollar store, then etch my business’s name onto the items. filled with yummy homemade candy or flowers, it would be a great thank you for my clients.

  52. Pam says:

I would use it mainly for paper crafts, but I would love to try using it with vinyl and heat transfer, rhinestones… I would try them all!

  53. Angie K says:

I can tell you I’d have to buy thousands of rhinestones, my little angel will go to town! I sure would have loved to already have it for the 100 day of school project instead of the silly bedazzler that tore holes into my thumb!

Of course I’d use the vinyl and paper cutting. After thousands of rhinestones!

  54. madebymegs says:

I have been thinking to buy this machine and use it for card making….to win it would be totally awesome :)

  55. Linda More says:

This looks amazing! I’d love to do the Vinyl wall art for my daughters. My 16 year old has a very PINK room and loves color and design. We could work on this together. I enjoy cardmaking and scrapbooking too. Thank you for all the good information!

  56. Anjanette says:

I would love to use it for vinyl, but would probably use it more for card making…

  57. Deanna says:

I would use it as the heat transfer to begin with, as I have two young girls who love prints on their their shirts and pants!

  58. Penny Dowdy says:

Most certainly vinyl and glass etching. So easy!!!

  59. Mary N. says:

    Hi,

I would love the Silhouette for paper crafting – cutting boxes etc and for the ability to cut out the graphics that I have on my computer. I would use all the nifty capabilities of the machine..but if I have to choose “one” – it would be the paper crafting.
Thank you for this AWESOME Opportunity to win a Silhouette. Have a great week.

  60. Rebecca says:

    VINYL VINYL VINYL

    Actually, Vinyl and Rhinestones…

And well, if its anything like my cricut, I would use it to cut EVERYTHING under the sun!

  61. melissa says:

oh my there are so many things I could but I think first I would finish my daughters wall. We started a butterfly mural and ran out of cute stencils.

  62. Dawnll says:

Papercrafting for sure, I know I would love to use this machine. I have been hearing lots of good things and wanted to try. Oh there are some fun ideas on their site also, lots of information. Thanks for the chance

  63. Mnica Ingle says:

I would use it for scrapbooking, hea transfers cardmaking and much, much more!I love your site!

  64. Macy says:

I’m a paper crafter! Just drooling over all the fun decoupage work I could do!

    -Macy

  65. stacy says:

I would use it all the ways, but I am most excited about the vinyl. Thanks for the chance!!

  66. Oh Wow!! I could find so many ways to use the Silhouette!! I love scrapbooking, cutting vinyl for gifts or even glass etching. The possibilities are endless

  67. Deborah says:

Wow, so many ways to use it and I would have to try them all. Probably what I would use it for the most is glass etching since glass is what I work with. Would be great to have a silhouette to speed up my etching on my fused glass jewelry. I am sure glad i get your newletter, I love it!

  68. carolyn says:

i can only pick one way? can i rank them? :) scrapbooking would probably be my primary use, but card making and paper crafting are a close second and third.

  69. Michele says:

I’d be so stinking excited to cut my own vinyl!! I have so many ideas to decorate my house with vinyl. I’ve also heard the Silhouette will cut fabric, and I’m OBSESSED with making fabric flowers. This would cut my time in half to make them! How cool are the people from Silhouette for offering your readers a free machine??? Wow!

  70. Anna D. says:

My #1 use would be scrapbooking but I would also use it for cutting Vinyl. Thanks for a chance to win. :o )

  71. Sue Newberg says:

    Where to begin?
I create individualized clothing and handbags and this will be a wonderful change to embroidery; faster too! I love being able to change it up without buying another cartridge and the fact it connects to my computer means I’ll have more control over designs.
I also etch and this is an exciting opportunity to choose my font and add beautiful initials to inexpensive vases’, glassware and dinnerware.
I have always admired vinyl wall decorations but have read many reviews that indicate a problem with cutting the vinyl backing. Reading that this problem has been eliminated means I can go for it.
This is definitely at the top of my “To Buy” list! It will more than pay for itself after one holiday season.

  72. pranita says:

  81. Colette says:

This looks AWESOME!! Do I really have to pick just one?!? OK – I know I would use it for scrapbooking and I can think of some fun glass etching projects calling my name – Also, I love that it can do vinyl! I have looked at some of the options at stores and although I love the idea – there is never anything that seems just right, if I had the Silhouette I could just make my own! I love the idea of being able to use the many free fonts I have on my pc already and being able to get the specific graphic I want (instead of buying a cartridge that has really only one thing on it that I want). Oh, I hope I win! ;-)

I would also add the diecuts to my fiber/multimedia art creations. Since I work with so many different media, I am sure I would use it in all possible ways, including some not yet discovered!

A NEW PURPOSE THAT WOULD APPEAL TO QUILTERS!!!

I use my old digital cutting machine (which shall remain un-named) to cut freezer-paper, fusible interfacing AND some fabrics into shapes for sewing, quilting and applique work. I design my own applique shapes, some of which are intricate and/or highly personalized (like peoples names, shapes resembling people, pets, etc.) or I use pre-designed shapes. I’ve had great success in cutting my appliques with a digital cutter! It makes for a highly consistent, personalized and wonderfully quick way to cut appliques.

I’ve heard such great things about the Silhouette and I KNOW I WOULD USE IT!!!

  106. Kandice says:

I would love to use this for heat transfers. My husband is always coming up with funny T-shirts to to wear, and it gets expensive to get them done at a sweat shop. My little Rosie would love it for the ability to set rhinestones. She is 6 and declares that she is a fashionesta.

  186. Katie says:

I love this, I’ve been wanting one forever. I would totally use it for scrapbooking, paper crafts and to add vinyl to my home. I have so many ideas for my twins bedroom and play room.

Thanks for introducing this product to me! Now I think I NEED one! I would have too much fun with the vinyl and making cute paper projects! I can’t believe how many options it gives you to create with! I love it!

Thanks for the chance to win this generous giveaway! I will use it for my crafts: ATCs, cards, scrapbooking and my children’s school projects. I’m pleasantly surprised to read about the heat transfer and rhinestones templates!

I would use this machine for every purpose it has, but if I have to choose something it would be used for the most I would say vinyl and scrapbooking. Thanks for a chance to win.

  191. Marie B says:

WOW- so the vinyl thing had me saying “wow, neat” but then I saw the heat transfer option and now I’m all like “OMG!!!! I need this!” So yeah, the rhinestone thing is super cool too but I would be ALL over making heat transfers. I currently do a lot of stenciling on fabric and this would be way easier and look tons nicer.

I see how slim my chances are at winning this but I am defiitely adding this page to my favorite to follow an check on frequently. <3

  192. Catherine says:

I would use the Silhouette mostly for paper crafting, but would have to try all the other uses listed. It looks like an awesome piece to have and it would sure make my paper crafting easier as I still have to cut everything by hand!

  193. Chante says:

Well I originally thought I would want to use for vinyl or etching but I LOVE their rhinestones. I’m surprised at all it can do. And I’m obsessed with fonts and probably have way too many…but I love that I could use them all with the Silhouette. Awesome giveaway, thank you!

  194. Beth says:

I would definitely use it for the iron on transfers and the vinyl. I have been contemplating buying a machine like this, but to win one would be even better!!

  195. Jodi Hunt says:

I would use it for scrapbooking mostly, but loved all the decorating ideas. I would try many things. Hope I win, this would be awesome!

This is a wonderful machine…and so wonderful of you to offer a free one on your website! Thank you! I love, love, love (did I say LOVE?) paper crafting. My little ole hands are stiff and sore from cutting the crafts that I love to make. I would definitely use the Silhouette to paper craft with…and I love that it connects to a computer…..wonderful!!

A friend and I have a little crafty business called Adorned. We make embellished picture frames and gifts and participate in local craft shows. We both love HowDoesShe.com and get lots of great ideas!

I would totally use the Silhouette to cut vinyl to embellish our frames and gifts. So many possibilities! I’m also an avid scrapbooker and the Silhouette would help me with that doo.

Thanks so much for offering this giveaway. You’re the bestest!

  200. Emily H says:

I loved all the ideas they had on their website. I had no idea you could do so many things with one machine. My favorite thing to do would probably be the vinyl, but a very close second would be the heat transfers. That is so cool. I love sewing and am always looking for something to personalize what I am making. Please pick me!
