From Trash to Treasure

As fun as it is to get brand spankin’ new things, old ‘is in’ right now! Vintage ‘is in’! Using what you have ‘is in’! I LOVE IT! -I have been lusting over amazing ‘before and after’ projects feeling totally jealous. I’ve always been scared to attempt ‘re-do’ projects, but with all of these amazing woman out there inspiring me, I think I can attempt the measly project I have in mind.

Get ready to be blown away….

1. Nuestra Vida Dulce found this nasty sofa on Craigslist for $45…

daveandjoibefore

And turned it into this stunning beauty! {gasp}!daveandjoiafter

She even does a weekly “What’s Good in Your Hood” where she searches craigslist for great finds FOR YOU! Don’t worry,…I’ve already added Boise to her search list! ;)

Up Next: RockyBella transformed an old hutch into this perfect TV Stand.

RockyBella will you just sell this to me please? I am fairly certain it belongs in my home!

Life in the fun lane‘s Holly has the magical touch. Everything she touches turns to gold I mean white! She has dozens of white projects that are breathtaking. She took this old hutch into and magically created this stunning piece. Head over to Life in the Fun Lane to see more incredible transformations.

On a smaller {more do-able} note, Isabella & Max Rooms made this old footstool into the perfect addition to her little girls dream bedroom.

KFD Designs grabbed this interesting thrift store find…

and created this stunning clock with a little spray paint and bamboo skewers! Wow!

Better After is another wonderful site dedicated just to ‘before and after’ projects. It is a great place to submit projects and to be inspired.

Okay, seriously,…I could go on forever. The sites above should (and probably will) keep you busy for a good few hours. -They did me! ;)

I was recently given my late grandmother’s piano {what a treasure}. But obviously the piano bench is,…well,…ugly {sorry grandma}. So this is my project…pianobenchbeforeAny words of advice? I’m scared. I’ll let you know how it goes…

What are your favorite re-design sites? Do you have any before/after projects? Send them our way! We’d love to see them!

-Race you to Goodwill?! Good Luck beating me there! ;)

I am in awe of what people can do with such gross looking furniture. I would love to have any of those remodels in my home. Your piano bench, mmm……….definitely a new seat!

  6. I love this post. Wish I had TONS more time so that I could do amazing things with old furniture. WOW

  7. Margot says:

I am looking forward to seeing how your piano bench turns out! When I am tackling a brand new craft medium, I find it helpful to practice on something I don’t care so much about first. That way I work out all the kinks and questions that crop up mid-project *before* I completely mess up. Makes success much more likely, at least it does for me.

  8. Hani says:

I love re-inventing!:D anyway, you may paint the piano bench white and stick vinyl(with pretty designs) on its legs.

hope that helps:) you guys have creative minds!! do your magic:)
