Throw A Petal Party

Petal Party!

Throw A Petal Party I’m sure you’ve noticed that flower accessories are everywhere! They are on little girls headbands, in sassy mommas hair, on purses, gift wrapping….seriously,…they are everywhere! But they are so dang expensive to buy. Even making your own is spendy because buying one ‘bunch’ of flowers for one or two little clips makes buying the whole flower bunch seem like a waste. -My twin baby girl’s needed some more gorgeous flower headbands so I selfishly decided to host a PETAL PARTY!  ;)

Several of my girlfriend gathered at my house for a ‘Girl’s Night Out’. Everyone was responsible for bringing one big ‘bunch’ of flowers (or a couple of smaller bunches) to share. I bought all of the centers, gluesticks, and clips. Everyone donated $2-3 to help cover the cost. We laughed, ate, and created flower accessories galor! My girls are ‘in need’ no more! ;) I added all of my extras to my Gift Box to give as shower presents. I know. It’s brilliant! {I can’t take credit, I found this wonderful idea on UnnecessaryNecessities} Throw A Petal Party

{As the hostess I, of course, had to wear a big ole flower for advertising purposes!} Throw A Petal Party

those hair accessory holders are REALLY cute! – and not to forget, very organized:)

what I can think of right now is, just a simple way of keeping the accesories. which is by fastening a string(or ribbon) between few nailed-nails/pegs on the wall.. then just hang the accessories over.

by the way *excited* thank you so much for the comments on my blog!! really really appreciate it, Shelly:)

This sounds like such fun. I’m picturing doing this for a brunch. I can just see everyone going home with their bright and happy creations.
The storage ideas are great too. If I had any available wall space, I would have to take advantage of these. As it is, I keep my hair accessories in a small (very small) plastic drawer container. It is the kind you can find in the large plastic storage area of your local mega mart. It works well, as I can separate each drawer by color range and know just where to go to add the perfect touch to an outfit. I keep this mini drawer set near my chest of drawers. It works well for me, it keeps them flat, organized and fairly dust free. :)

Shelley-where did you find all the cute brads for the centers? I am making a bunch more for my girls and would love to have some of the cute ones you used.

Also on my blog I posted pictures of the way I have mine hung on the bathroom. It is very similar to the frame you posted.

I found most of my centers at Michaels. I also made a few with fabric and button covers.

I was just wondering the other day what to do with my growing stash of hair bows. Tadah! –You solved it! I’m going to keep my eyes open for a great frame as garage sale season approaches.

Very creative and fun girl party. I love making flowers like this for my granddaughters. And it is the rave right now.

  11. A party specifically to play with flowers sounds like lots of fun! Love the idea of making the MOM at a baby shower feel special with a pretty posy for her hair!
    Happy REDnesday,
