**FOR ANYONE WHO FOUND THIS A LITTLE MORE DIFFICULT THAN IT SOUNDS: I just had my first attempt at these adorable lollipops. Out of approximately 40 cookies, I ended up with 15 cookies that broke as I was pulling them apart, 15 lollipops that broke or fell apart during dipping and 12 fantastic looking lollipops! Not the best of odds, but most of the 12 successes came towards the end when I had refined my skills. I think my second attempt will be much more successful. And I am absolutely thrilled with the 12, gorgeous lollipops I ended up with! Thank you for this terrific idea.

@jayesel: I buy the almond bark (which is just dipping chocolate and not a thing to do w/ almond) at Walmart. it's much cheaper than wilton. probablynot the same taste, but it tastes good. and frankly, w/ the sprinkles, etc on it, you won't notice the diff. The pkg for the almond bark says to stir in a little crisco (hard shortening, I think it says). that will keep it soft enough to dip.

They won't melt at room temperature. :) They can be out for several days, but I like to baggie them up. I'd say they are good for up to 7-10 days. Hope that helps. :)

I have tried making my oreo cookie suckers twice now and I have made a big mess. I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but mine are not pretty. My sticks will not stay in the oreos after they hit the chocolate. It's like they melt out immediately. I let the sticks sit in the cookies with the icing for at least 10 minutes. Also, my chocolate is not smooth and pretty like yours. I have tried chocolate chips, almond bark and now I just bought the colored melting chocolate to try. I want to make these for my daughters b-day party, but noone will want to eat mine. :-)
