Moen MotionSense Faucet Review with $100 Visa giveaway!
January 17, 2013 by Shelley
Not too shabby really. I actually quite liked it until about three weeks ago when I discovered the Moen Arbor MotionSense Faucet. Now there is no going back.
So what’s so fancy about this faucet anyways? One word: CONVENIENCE. The hands-free MotionSense function is something I never knew I was missing.
Do you see the tiny black ready sensor? This little beauty allows you to wash your hands, rinse a dish, fill a pot or clean veggies all hands-free. It basically knows what task you are trying to accomplish and gives you a little help.
With the ready sensor, it’s simply ready for you when you need it. Filling a pot has never been so easy. Photos speak a thousand words so take a peek at the simple functionality of the Arbor with MotionSense.
Once you walk away, the water automatically turns off.
Of course one of the all-time best uses for MotionSense is washing your hands without touching any germy handles. Truly a mother’s best friend for “wash up” time before dinner.
The lower sensor also means water savings! It will only supply water when something is right in front of it to activate water flow. No one will ever leave the faucet running unnecessarily again.
The top wave sensor is probably a feature you haven’t seen before. Arguably, it is my favorite feature of this fancy faucet.
Simply wave your hand over the top to begin water flow. It will continuously flow until you wave your hand over it again, or it will automatically turn off the flow after about 90 seconds.
Needless to say my kiddos are in LOVE with the magic faucet.
I have been known to start soaking a pan by turning on my old faucet, and walking away for WAY too long. As we all know, motherhood is busy and sometimes turning off the water isn’t a priority. My husband usually ended up turning off the faucet after a few minutes of wasted water. Problem solved with the top wave sensor feature.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE being able to place my dirty casserole saucepan down, activate the top feature, and walk away. In 90 seconds my pot is full and soaking, and the water automatically turns off. BRILLIANT!
The Moen MotionSense faucet is powered by a simple battery pack or optional AC power adapter that is as straightforward to install as a standard kitchen faucet. Whether this is a need now, or a want on your wish list for the future, it is definitely a faucet worth remembering. Go ahead, PIN IT to your “dream house” folder on Pinterest.
Intelligent, yet intuitively simple, Moen created MotionSense based on extensive consumer behavior research. It’s another in a long list of Moen innovations that are designed to delight.
I’d bet you are in the mood to home improve! Up for grabs is a $100 Visa gift card.

I’m a total germaphobe & I’m in love with the sensor! My kids are forgetful and I also appreciate how it turns itself off.

I love the top wave sensor so we don’t have to touch it when our hands are dirty!
This would make my life so much easier! I would LOVE to win this!
It would help me simplify my life because it will help me to save money on water and will need less cleaning than regular faucet

I work with kids- three 3 year old girls, to be exact. They’re always needing to wash hands, what with crafts, cooking, potty training, etc. To have an Arbor with MotionSenseo in the kitchen (or bathrooms, or every single sink in the house!) would mean that I’d be free to help Thing One and Thing Two while Thing Three was washing her hands. Or to make sure Things One and Three didn’t paint the curtains and sofa (again) while Thing Two was getting a drink of water. The list goes on and on and on…
This faucet would simplify my life by helping me to save water.
Would be a great improvement to my old leaking facet….
What a great idea! I love the thought of fewer germs being spread around
Oh how perfect! Life is all about the little things and now that I have 3 kiddos 3 and under every second saved is priceless to me! Not to mention, I cannot even begin to count the number of times lately that I’ve accidentally left my kitchen faucet running.
I think the motion sense is the best. My husband can stop yelling at me when I turn my back to grab more dishes.
The Arbor with MotionSense would be the “helping hand” in the kitchen that I need. I hate turning on the faucet when my hands are all gunked up. Not only do I need to clean my hands, but then I end up having to clean the faucet as well since the stuff that was on my hands now covers it. Having the Arbor in my home would allow me to clean my hands without having to clean up after the clean up. That would certainly be nice.

Just helping not spreading germs in general
This beautiful faucet will help simplify my life because it will help me save money. I love this feature of the faucet. Saving money will simplify my life be allowing me to have more funds for fun times. I am a multi-tasker so this faucet really helps simplify my life by allowing me to do something else while my pots are being filled with water. How cool is this?
oh, it may sound a little silly, but this would help on bad arthritis days…so, that would be lovely for me.
This would simplify my life by helping me not be absolutely terrified of handling raw meat!! I always freak out when I have to touch the faucet after touching raw chicken or beef – I scrub my hands then scrub my faucet. It’d be so much easier with this.
This will so simplifie my life. With 5 boys I will take anything that will save me time and engery. Even if it is just in the kitchen!! Ha ha!! And most of those boys are teenagers!!
This would be so very nice to have!! When my daughter wants to help out in the kitchen and “be the chef”, she has to go get a stool to reach the handles and turn the water on so she can wash her hands. This thing would save time and money, all while reducing germs, you name it. I want one!!
It would be helpful for me to have it on days when my hands are hurting from pain from arthritis : and makes it so easy when u need to wash your hands : love it.
Alright…I think I have met my love. This sink ROCKS my POTS! This would make cooking…and cleaning those hands so much easier. I had no clue this existed! Thank you for sharing! Good Luck everyone!
Jen
Imagine all the water being saved, that is always a plus in my book!
with 2 small kids it would definitely make cleaning up after meals and crafts much easier. not to mention spreading less germs around.
Love this faucet! Want it for my house I’m building!
What a beautifully functional timesave–the Moen faucet would help me do kitchen prep and cleanup in a flash.
This faucet would simplify my life because I would simply have one less thing to do everyday. ; )
There is always a puddle of water where the handle is to turn the faucet on & off. I would love to not have the puddle of standing water!
Oh! To not have to touch the sink to wash germy, icky, nasty raw meat hands!
I have 5 grown hard working men around here that I feed way to often. You can imagine how much easier that would make their cleanup and all that cooking!
I have wanted this since I first saw a commercial for it! It would keep my 3 yr old from flooding the house continually as he is obsessed with running water
This faucet would simplify my life because it would be much easier to clean my hands without having to touch and contaminate the levers!
This MotionSense faucet would simplify my life in many ways: Cooking and clean-up would be faster and easier, and handwashing would be a breeze, with no germy handles to have to clean up afterwards.
I would love to keep cold germs and raw meat contamination away from the kitchen faucet!
our kitchen faucet is the worst right now, and this would help me be much more efficient

I’m pretty tired of turning on the water with my elbows when I have “meat hands”. This would definitely simplify things!
I also leave the water running while I go deal with something else. Sometimes I will go sit down and realize I left it running so the the fact the it shuts itself off is amazing!
No more puddles of water around the water faucet after I turn off the water from washing hands?!?!!!
I’ve always wondered about these faucets….thanks for reviewing it and giving more specifics about how it works. I feel like I need to be in the kitchen when hubby is cutting/preparing meat so he doesn’t have to touch the faucet handles when he needs to wash his hands. This faucet would give me FREEDOM to walk away
this would simplify my life by being better able to multitask and save time. A lot of times I fill up the sink and try to do something really fast but when that task is taking longer than intended, I end up running back to the sink hoping I didnt make a mess. Lol. True story.
A motion facet would be amazing. Like an extra hand in the kitchen.
I really need a new faucet, this one looks fabulous!
This would improve our life greatly with the kitchen renovation we need to do at our 1830′s farmhouse!
We eat a lot of chicken…which means a lot of germy hands in prep. This would be perfect! Not to mention keeping my kids from constantly running the water! Thanks for the chance!
Wow amazing I’m with you on the kids and no germy hands having to touch the tap!
Two words: raw chicken!
This would really help at our house, mostly for super dirty hands. We live on a working property. 22 acres, chickens, dogs, garden, etc, and we often come inside with absolutely filthy hands. It’d be great to be able to wave a hand of the faucet and turn it on that way instead of getting it super dirty and having to wash it after one has to wash one’s hands!
