Like Father Like Son: Styling Tips from a Toddler and his Dad.

I love standing in the distance observing these two together through my viewfinder. I see a little boy who looks up to his dad and loves to follow his ever lead…everything  including his sense of style.

You already know about my husband’s secret sense of style – well, my son, whom I like to call “Little Man”  (because he was born with a lot of hair) seems to have a similar sense of style when it comes to his wardrobe. In fact, you will often find Little Man choosing to wear a stylish fedora hat or requesting to wear a tie even with his t-shirt. Both items of which he wants to sleep with. I convince him not to wear the tie for obvious safety reasons but apparently sleeping with accessories is important and he clings on to his hat as if it were a fluffy stuffed animal. Last night it was his red polo hat (which his daddy gave him) and that he often chooses to wear either backwards to turned slightly to the side wherever he goes.

But I think the reason he loves these hats and ties so much is because he sees his daddy wearing them. And there is no one he wants to be like more than his dad.

So, I thought I would share some father and son photos portraying their sense of style.

Brooks is wearing a shirt from Analog, a skinny tie from Greenish, shades by Proof, red pants from Dockers, and canvas shoe by Puma.

Little Man is wearing a blue shirt from Zara Kids, a matching skinny red tie from Greenish, a sweater vest from H&M, Jeans by Gioberti, and All Star Converse kicks.

I couldn’t resist to take advantage of this moment and went against all I believe in and went through their closet and pulled together two matching outfits with searsucker pants (yes my husband loves to sport these), white shirts, and matching ties. All in the name of  Father’s day right? Plus these matching ties were too irresistible!

Okay- that’s about all the matchy-matchy that I could handle so to break it up a bit I  added a hat and a sweater vest.

It is wonderful to see fathers take a bigger role in raising their children and the matching outfits confirm that they are so much like each other.
