I have not seen the book in real life, but after I saw it on TV I realized it is even better that I thought! It is beautiful.
Recipe Book Update:
NO LONGER AVAILABLE AS OF 9/14/11
- 289 printed books sold
- 280 ebooks sold
Currently a grand total of:
$5690.00!!!
That is awesome! But we know we can do more. This book is only on sale through the end of August. Let’s reach for a higher goal. Remember 100% of the proceeds go to the American Red Cross, an organization that has helped so many lives..
Stories like THIS are why this recipe book exists…
“On January 17th of 1995, I was living near Kobe Japan when the historic Kobe Earthquake hit. 6000 people lost their lives, over 80,000 were injured, and over 300,000 people were left homeless. I personally had to go without electricity, heat, and water for several weeks and and in some cases months. Food was extremely scarce and rationed for at least two months. I will be forever grateful for the humanitarian efforts and selfless acts of service that were rendered on my behalf and for the Japanese people affected. Although the Kobe earthquake was devastating and deadly, it hardly compares to the staggering death toll and numbers of families who are left homeless and injured in the latest Sendai Japan Earthquake. I remember helping out in the homeless shelters after the Kobe quake and feeling overwhelmed by the needs of these good, selfless, loving, and hard working people, even months after the initial quake hit. I know that the people of Sendai and the surrounding areas are in need of any help they can get and will be forever grateful for the service rendered on their behalf. It will take many months and years to rebuild and heal from such a devastating natural disaster. My prayers are with the Japanese people and others around the world going through similar trials.”

It is up to us. Up to all of us to make a difference.
Thank you to those who have been so generous in supporting this cause. Some of you are donating even more than the $10.00 for the ebook. Thank you! Any extra money paid for the books will just help the Red Cross help more!
We keep hearing stories from people who have been caught in the middle of current natural disasters, thanking us for putting forth an effort to help! So we pass that on to you because it is in your hands…
Thank You!!
Let’s rev up the capacity for the American Red Cross to do what they do so well…help!

We never know when the next natural disaster will strike and who it will affect.
If you have a story about your experience in any natural disaster, we want to hear about it (please leave a comment)!
Your story will remind people why we all need to help.

I bought an e-book version and it’s amazing..even better than I imagined. I was so impressed with the quality of the recipes, photos, instructions..all of it! It was more than worth the $10 and knowing I was helping a great cause was only icing on the cake
Thanks for the poignant reminder of why we need to help; we never know when it might be us who needs help! And it’s why we’re here-to help one another. Missy, your message on TV came across loud and clear!
