There is an incredible giveaway at the bottom of the post, but first, a candid review.

It’s no secret that I love Windows phones. My husband has a different smartphone than I do, and I 100% prefer mine over his. ;) I had the chance to review a Nokia Windows phone last year, and after one week of using it, I was sold. I am now through and through loyal to the Nokia Windows phone.  Why, you may ask? I am obsessed with the live tiles on my front screen that change as all my social media channels update into one little tile–pictures of loved ones being uploaded from all over the world, status updates, and more! All I have to do is glance down at my phone. No running to five different social media platforms to check my feed. It’s incredible. I have a live tile for my husband, a group tile for all of my family, and another for friends. I could go on and on about this little feature, but basically, it’s awesome. Definitely the most social-friendly phone I have ever seen.

In the past, one of my biggest issues with other smartphones is that they just don’t produce the quality of pictures I want. I would literally haul around my bulky pro camera in my purse, just so I wouldn’t miss a special moment. It wasn’t exactly convenient. My love for Windows phones just got deeper, because they just released the 41 megapixel Nokia Lumia 1020. I was sent a Lumia 1020 to put to the test.

Shelley Nokia (5)

So is it a camera, or is it a smartphone?  It does both so beautifully that it really doesn’t favor one over the other.

So, let’s see this camera in action. I was blown away the first time I snapped a picture. I took the Nokia Lumia 1020 to New York City with me this last week and snapped a few pictures at an event I was attending. Yes, these were taken with a phone!!!

I feel I fail at capturing many of the moments with my kids. Trying to photograph how soft a baby's cheek is or how fluffy a toddler's bedhead is seems extremely difficult. Maybe a better camera would make a difference. :)

    Karen Wood says:
Well my failed moments are to old to revisit and do over. I would love to look forward to photographing new things. It would be very handy to have that little gem of a gadget on me all the time to catch whatever happens. My current camera phone is so bad I refuse to do selfies with it and don't have any pics of myself to post online and I really need some. Plus pics of my garden, baking etc. when I tell people things and wish I could show them. A redo of gardening next summer would be awesome. I guess I do have my one tiny selfie taken by my equally bad webcam that could also qualify for a redo.

Well my main camera battery died on my us on our last day at Disneyland, the day we were finally able to see my little 3 year-olds favorite princess Cinderella, she was all dressed up to see her and so excited. I had left my phone with my mom and our sleeping 6 month old and 5 year old who didn't think seeing a princess was that great of an idea. So he had the phone to play with while waiting. Which meant no camera for us as it died right before we got to Cinderella. Hubby left it on while we were walking a few too many times. :) And that is our failed moment. Someday we hope to make it back and visit cinderella with a working camera.

My failed photo opp was my wedding. We were trying to save money where we could, and a family friend said that she was a photographer and would happy to take our photos for free! Yay, right? Nope, not so much. We ended up with a bunch of drugstore printed snapshots (no negatives) most of which were too dark to make out the people in the pictures. Heartbreaking. The biggest day of my life, and no photo record.

We took family pictures about a month after my second son was born. Unfortunately, son #1 was still upset about his world being turned upside down and refused to smile. Most of the pictures are of him with his arms folded and bottom lip out. We'll keep them around for blackmail later. :)

    Stacy johnson says:
Just 2 weeks ago we were at the beach when a logger head se turtle nest hatched. All my life I have wanted to see this miracle and now I could see I with my children and share it with my friends....as the beautiful little babies crawled out of the nest and then crawled towards the ocean we were informed to remain perfectly still. They flapped there tiny flippers right passed me and washed back and forth into the ocean and crawled over my sons foot. We remained still as I took pictures with the only thing I had...my phone. It was slow, but I knew if I got just a few of this miracle I would be happy. They washed back one final time, as I took more pictures, and swam into the ocean. We all stood still for awhile just to make sure they all were safe and to just catch our breath. So joyful to share my pictures with my school class and family I viewed my pictures only to be so disappointed at the blured images . Even the ones were the turtles were almost still on the sand. :( I was so sad, because It would have been wonderful to have even just one picture of a sweet baby sea turtle! :(. Epic fail!!!!!!

    Puddin Twain says:
Most people hate the camera at the DMV, but I love it. Because it's the only camera that my photos always ALWAYS look good with. I've been pulled over before because the officer that saw my license photo when they ran my tag just had to see me in person. So to say that I'm usually disappointed with other pics of me is an understatement. Most times, the photo is blurry because the camera is too shake sensitive, or I've got a funny look on my face because the camera isn't easy to operate. Even better, just a couple weeks ago, my last camera phone took a dip when I was wading and an undertow caught my ankles. So THIS would be an awesome win.

Tons of pics throughout the day, My husband is a Police Officer working looooong hours. I like to send him pics from the day so he can feel like he's a part of whatever the family is doing. If I can get my phone to take a decent picture it is usually still blurry/grainy which in turn makes me take lots of pics until I find one that will pass. I would love a decent camera on my phone.....I'm sure my husband would appreciate it too. :)

I feel like that "failed" photo is constantly happening, not one specific time. Every time I think I'm taking a great photo of of my daughter it is either out of focus or it wasn't fast enough to catch the moment on time. My husband is totally OCD perfectionist so he goes through my phone and deletes most of them! It usually takes like 20 tries to get a photo that looks just right, and about that time we are really forcing a smile out of her. This phone/camera looks AWESOME!

My failed photo moment was my wedding. The photographer we hired had his equipment stolen just hours before the ceremony. This was before camera phones and my guests were kind enough to stop by the convenience store on their way to the site and pick up disposable cameras. Not the best quality and since I didn't have a professional photographer, not the best pictures.

    K Crew says:
I just finally got a smart phone earlier this year. I got a pretty basic one, because the price was right, and I thought any smart phone was better than the flip phone I'd been using for years. Well, I wish I had gotten one with a decent camera, because a short time later my camera broke and my daughter started walking for the first time. All I had was my [not very smart] smart phone and I couldn't get even a halfway decent picture. So the only picture I have of her walking is blurry and not even close to being clear. :( Those photos look amazing. I would seriously love this phone/camera. ;)

I had a moment back at the end of May to take photos with an older camera or phone of my daughter receiving her Young Women's Medallion. The photos taken of us with the water behind us were awful. My old Samsung Stratosphere phone snapped one or two photos. All the memories are captured in the two camera photos. I had purchased and completed 4 scrapbook pages for her and had only two photos to put on the pages.

Failed moment - how about EVERY time. My camera has so many options that tend to reset when I turn the darn thing off. Then the "must-capture" moment is either too frizzy, too dark or not focused well. Ugh. I lose more moments and hope to better days with an improved model - wink, wink.

My cousin wanted to prove to her "city" friends that she knew how to ride a quad. So I stood here ready to take a picture with my camera (this was when I was 15...I am now 27.. so you can imagine my kick ass Camera!) as she drove by infont of me... The minute I seen her through the tiny little eye hole I clicked it.. As I looked up she was looking at me smiling.. not at where she was going. She jumped a small dirt rode, & bite through her lip..... 6 stitches later & 1 week (of waiting for the pictures to be developed) we got nothing but the back half of a speeding quad.. blurred... but it brings us nothing but laughs everytime we see it!

My failed photo moment was when I was at a Trey Songz concert and I tried taking a picture of him because we were close to the stage and it came out totally blurry and looked liked he had a disfigured face.
