Healthy Summer Treats and Blendtec Blender Giveaway!

I am so excited for this! I emailed BlendTec a couple months ago and asked if we could review their blender on HowDoesShe. My mom has one and I love it so I wanted to share it with all of you! Not only did they send one for me to review, they said they would give one away to one of you as well! Three Cheers!
I got my kids excited for the new appliance by having them watch some of the Will It Blend series on You Tube. If you haven’t seen them, click over – they are pretty sweet. Try not to cringe as he blends an iPhone, iPad and many other crazy things.
We all cheered, literally, when our Blendtec came. I have used it almost every day since I received it. Here are all the things I have made so far…
LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of smoothies
soup
sauces
I ground wheat, almonds and oats into flour
I have blended and blended trying to come up with the perfect recipe to share with you using my Blendtec. My kids and I have come up with a bunch of different yummy concoctions.
Here are my top 3.
1. Lemon Basil Icee, to deliciously cool us off in the coming months. This one took the help of my friend Emily and lots of kid taste testers. 
2.Cocoa Bean Breakfast Shake (or for a snack or lunch or dessert – whatever)
3. Yummy Goodness. Enough said.
Lemon Basil Icee
3/4 cup simple syrup (boil equal parts water and sugar until dissolved, cool)
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
3 – 5 leaves sweet basil
ice
Add all ingredients…
and blend.
DeLiCiouS!
Now…chocolate.
Cocoa Bean Breakfast Shake
I drink this for breakfast a LOT and it keeps me full until lunch.
Put ingredients in your blender in order listed, then hit the smoothie button. While it is blending, write me a love note cause you are going to LOVE this! As you can see, I am not the only who made happy by this shake.
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 banana
1/8 cup raw cocao beans (can sub. cocoa powder but the beans give it a yummy chunky chocolate chip like texture)
1 scoop chocolate TRIM shake mix or chocolate protein powder
2 Tbls. Peanut Butter Powder (or use regular peanut butter but it will be higher in calories)
1 Tbls. Chia Seed
1/8 tsp. stevia extract powder (this is the SUPER concentrated stuff, or use your preferred sweetener to taste)
1/2 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
3 cups ice cubes (less or more depending on how thick you like it)
Creamy Goodness
3/4 can coconut milk
1 banana
1/4 cup basil
1 cup frozen blueberries
1/4 cup dark cocoa powder
1/4 cup raw cocoa beans
1/4 tsp. stevia extract powder
Put ingredients in blender and blend! My kids request this one often! They think it is a treat…shhh – don’t tell them it is healthy.
I also love using these recipes (or using left overs) for popsicles!
Just pour any concoction into mold…
put lid on, add the sticks and freeze. So Easy.
YuM!
