Golf Themed Birthday Party
September 3, 2010 by Shelley
Let’s PAR-TEE!
I can’t lie, I’ve been procrastinating posting this party because I feel like I am going to be held to the ‘Sweet Shoppe‘ standard. You guys really made me feel special with all of those comments on that post!
Well, I basically depleted my party funds after the twins’ birthday.
Fortunately my mother-in-law was in town to pick up my slack (both creatively and financially). Oh how I love parents. Between the two of us, somehow this golf themed birthday party came to life! My little man adores golf (mostly because it means he gets to go to the golf course with daddy). I knew right away that a ‘GOLF’ themed birthday party was the only way to go. Chickabug took my basic concept, added her creative touch, and designed a perfect printable set. {I love all the ‘puns’ in it}.

Water Bottle Party Favors
Food Served – cupcake liners by Sweet Baking Supply
Stickers to wear proudly – by chickabug
The Birthday Boy
Why must they grow so fast? And why must he always have a water gun in his hand?
-
A special thanks to everyone who helped make this golf themed birthday party a success:
To my creative Mother-in-law Dianne who helped in so many ways.
To my father-in-law who tried to get the right shaped doughnut holes but didn’t.
To chickabug for, once again, designing an incredibly cute printable golf theme which is now available in her shop. {Can you tell we love her around here?}
To Sweet Baking Supply who has the best baking supplies (and prices) online. The cupcake liners I used for the golf cupcakes are incredible! (I also used them here).
-The striped favor bags for making children smile on their way home.
-The green and white striped straws which made ordinary water bottles look so much better.
-KcSoapsNmore who created the Golf Cart stamped tags (on the water bottle favors).
-These Clear and White Polka Dot Balloons which just made me happy.
-TomKat Studios who continues to provide an ‘eye candy’ of inspiration for all my parties.
{Did I cover it all? Hopefully that answered most of your questions}
Until next year, my parties are done. Whew! Now what themes should I do? Suggestions? We want to see your parties!

You amaze me! I helped with two different golf tournaments this summer and they have nothing on your decorating skills. Wishing I channel your brain for my next event…

amazing party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just found your post by using google to find some golf themed birthday party ideas. I’m not one to leave comments on blogs/websites that I’m not familar with but as soon as I read your intro I thought that you were talking about my soon to be 3 year old (whose golf party I am planning) and I just HAD to leave a comment! He LIVES for golf and especially going with daddy to the course! And then…I saw your photos. These were EXACTLY the ideas I was looking for!! Thanks for sharing your amazingly creative ideas. Now, I’m off to learn about how to build a mini course in our backyard.
I just love this! Green is my favorite color so this is total eye candy for me! Just shared on our facebook wall. Moms will go crazy for this. I love everything you created.

I’ve seen football themed parties before but never golf, but I have to say this one looks better. Late Congratulations to Noah.
I love this golf theme party. It is looking amazing party.I feel good after seeing such beautiful picture of birthday party.i have seen many theme before this but i have never seen golf party theme before. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.
i contacted chickabug for the golf themed stuff she has and she sent me to this post for some inspiration for my sons golf themed party – can i steal EVERY idea?!?! I love them all!!! How did you do the doughnut holes??? What is the grassy stuff they are stuck in? thanks so much!!!
Yes you can steal every last idea!
Isn’t Chickabug the BEST to work with? She is fabulous! –The doughnut hole in ones were just doughnut holes, with sucker sticks in them. I dipped them in white chocolate and rolled them in white sprinkles. The grassy stuff is just turf you can buy at home depot of lowes by the yard.
I’d LOVE to see pictures. Send them our way when you are done!
I wanted to be sure to share with you my version of this party (as I TOTALLLLLY copied you…but don’t worry I gave you a shout out for it!) Here’s the link to the golf decor of my son’s party last month. THANK YOU for the WONDERFUL source of inspiration (i’m totally hoping to do the Cars themed party next year!) http://emilyandzachparker.blogspot.com/2011/03/golf-party-decor.html
Hello Shelley- where do i get some of those amazing foam golf hats for the kids attending my sons party? I love this idea, you are so creative!
I scored those green foam visors at Zuchers (local party store) for 80 cents each.
Hope that helps?
Did you play any games at the party? I love this and wanting to do a party similar for my sons 2nd bday party!
And besides the water bottles what did the kids take home for a party favor?
The kids played ’3′ holes of golf (he was turning three) and had a water balloon fight (nothing to do with golf. ha). –The kids had lots of candy favors in green and white. Swirly suckers, green apple sugar rings… Hope that helps
Whitney, I just threw a party for my son’s 3rd birthday. You can check it out here.
http://ourjumpingoffplace.blogspot.com/2011/05/husons-par-3-partee.html
I copied lots of Shelley’s ideas, but also had a golf ball pinata and a Hole In One game. Didn’t come up with any other food ideas besides the Club sandwiches and the golf ball cake balls. I did serve Iced Tee…Hope this helps!
Oh, and what other food did you serve besides the clubs??
Grapes, candy, and cake.
Nothing too fancy, although i’m sure you could come up with some great golf ‘pun’ foods.
Just had to show off my son’s Par-3 Birthday Partee! Thanks so much for all the ideas and inspiration! The party was great! I think I enjoyed it more than my 3 year old!

O.M.G!! I am pregnant with our first child, who happens to be a little boy, and I am pinning this ides because his daddy is a golfer and this is just a PERFECT idea for when he’s a bit older! You have executed it amazingly! Wish I could choose a favorite part, but I love it all!
Hello! I am doing a golf themed party for my son’s upcoming birthday and came across your post while I was looking for ideas. I absolutely love your whole design idea! Can you tell me where you got your tablecovers from? (Crazy that this is what I am having the most trouble finding! hahaha)
Thank you so much!
The green tablecloth came from WALMART.
$10. Can’t beat it. –Was that what you were looking at?
Yes, thank you. But also the green small gigham checked tablecloth. I tried looking online for something very similar, unfortunately I would have to order from oversees! lol
Thanks again for your help!
I wanted to thank you for all of your ideas. I totally copied everything. Check out my FB page to see my pictures
Thanks again!!

I love the golf theme party. I would like to know where to get the green water bottle favors. I have looked all over the internet to no avail. Thank you.
I found them at walmart for $1 each.
Check there.
Thank you for the beautiful pics! Your ideas are wonderful – so creative.
Thanks for the inspiriaiton!

My little guy is turning one in June! His daddy loves golf, so I decided to do his party with a golf theme. But I am not very imaginative. Thanks for the ideas! LOVE it and cannot wait to get started!
I love your ideas! How did you do the flags on the cupcakes?
Thanks so much for having posted this. I am hosting a mini golf party at home for my 8 year old in a couple of months and I have been inspired by your fantastic ideas. My son will be over the moon!!!
Hi! I was wondering what you used to wrap the sandwiches with. These are too cute!
Thanks,
Samantha
Love this golf b-day theme. I am replicating for our son’s 1st b-day party next month. I had a quick question though. I have found BPA, dishwasher safe water bottles. What did you use to write the kid’s names on the bottles? Is there something that is fade resistant and dishwasher safe?
I used paint pens from Walmart. The paint stayed on!
I have a question about the personalized water bottles in your golf theme party. What white writing instrument did you use to write on the green water bottles? Thanks!
Just a white paint marker.
Found at walmart.
A Great Job! I was really amazed on this stuff that you’ve did!
