And the winner is…

April 25, 2011 by

Remember this post from last year?  How does she teach her kids about finance and business?

Hang on…if you are interested in this program, there are 20 programs up for grabs…keep reading to find out how you can get one.

My 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Evans has done it again!  She has each of her students design a product and start the entrepreneur seed growing.

Remember how I thought my zip-lock on the top of brown sugar bags was my million dollar idea…then C&H had the same thought?!?

Do you see the soda pop pump!?!

(Middle Bottom)

She has developed econoME, an amazing program that helps teachers teach kids about finances and about how to become entrepreneurs.  The program incorporates finances and entrepreneurial-ism into the every day classroom management routine.  She has been working on this program since I was in 6th grade!  She has fine tuned it and is now helping other teachers learn how to make their classrooms run like a business.  She wants to help get it out to the classrooms.  So if you are a teacher or you think your kids teachers will like this program she is giving  away 20 memberships to www.starteconoME which includes econoME@home. Membership includes a weekly update, a how-to email and a weekly sampler email where she shares successful or fun lesson plans.

Leave a comment at the bottom.  The first 20 people who are interested, we will get you hooked up!

We got to see the ‘tops’ this year and we seriously are loving the creativity!  I hope they can get it on the market because there are a few I’d really like to have!!!

Here are some of the winners:

It is so fun to see what kids come up with each year.  Thanks Mrs. Evans’ 6th grade class for sharing your talents with HDS!

Here is a bit more info about econoME:
“This year econoME helped me become one of the five finalists nationwide for the 2010 Ron Clark Award which was the former Disney Award. I also won the 2011 Sontag Award for urban teaching and used econoME successfully in a one week teaching experience with inner city Boston students.
econoME is a virtual reality classroom management and academic program that incorporates into any teaching style or other programs used at any school. It creates instant relevance and motivates kids to perform!’ – Michelle Evans

This really is an amazing program and she wants to get it into more classrooms.  Leave a comment if you are interested and we will email you her info.  This is limited to the first 20.
