Daytime to Date night in 60 seconds…
November 4, 2011 by Cristi
We are so lucky!
Thanks to Sydney and Elaine, we are all getting so educated in the fashion department! And now we are even luckier because we found another beautifully talented expert from www.trulymodlydeeply.com to share even more fashion tips with all of us!
Girls, meet Cristi Dame.
Hello there new How Does She friends… I’m Cristi Dame and new around here. I am SUPER EXCTED to share and RECEIVE styling tips with you every other Friday! I am a mom by day, a photographer, blogger, counselor, and wife by night. So, like many of you- I wear many hats (literally- I love hats!) and constantly have to adapt my wardrobe to each occasion.
Sometimes, it feels as though I am like Clark Kent bolting into a telephone booth and quickly transforming into something totally different…Superman. Any other Geminis out there with that same problem?
That is why I am introducing you to my “two for one special.”
It is taking my typical every day look and transforming it into a simple yet sexy look in no time at all…as quickly as Clark becomes Superman.
I am serious- it only took me just over 60 seconds to transform this:
To this “Date Night” Look:
Here’s how simple and fast it was…
First I ditched the coat, leggings, head piece, and sweater boots.
Then I replaced them with a vintage gold belt, gold hooped earnings, a tad more eye shadow, red lipstick, and tall sexy leopard heels…oh yah and pulled my hair out of the bun.
(Items: Gold Belt: grandma’s closet, Leapord Heels: Steve Madden, Boots: Uggs, Flower Jacket: Zara, Head Piece: Etsy shop, Dress: Clearance rack somewhere, Scarf: Macey’s, Leggings: Target)
So, ladies- it’s date night…I I want to know:
WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU LIKE TO WEAR TO SPICE UP YOUR DATE NIGHT?
besitos xoxo,

I want to know where that cute blue coat came from?
Brittaney- I got that coat several seasons ago at one of my favorite store’s Zara. (www.zara.com)
Another fashion blogger saying I need to be brave and wear red lipstick. Okay, Okay! I get it. Tomorrow, for date night. Pinky promise.
I love both your looks.
Yay Shelley- go for it! Let me know how date night goes!
My hubs and I are pretty casual. For me dressing up is a little extra eyeliner and dangly earring..
love it dangly earrings are a must for date night!
Cute post! We are excited to have you here Cristi!
Thanks Alison- I am so EXCITED!
I wear leggings with ballet flats almost everyday, so when I want to spice things up for date night (AKA entire-family-tagging-along-date-night) I like to wear my leggings with heeled boots. That one switch-up really changes my entire look. BTW, I NEVER thought I could do the red lipstick thing but I took a chance after repeat suggestions here and I’m convinced…so is hubby!
Glad you tried the red lipstick… it is so simple yet changes everything. Glad to hear your hubby likes it too!
Can’t believe how those simple changes made such a different look. Fabulous!
Still haven’t tried the red lipstick, I don’t know if I am as brave as Shelley.
SO HAPPY to have you here, Crisit! My only change for date night is throwing on heels with my jeans and grabbing my small cute purse instead of the big mom bag.
Be brave Missy…baby steps…put it on one day when you are alone (if that ever happens in the mommy world) and see what you think! If you don’t like it…then you can easily dab off and tone it down with a clear lipgloss- maybe over time you can increase how much you leave on!
Yes ditching the mom bag is a must…I still somehow manage to bring it along somehow out of habit! It’s staying home next time!!
I love your post! I love the transition from day to night!!!
Thanks Stacy for your kind words!
I’m also one who was totally against the red lipstick until I tried it- now it’s hard to go back. Love the post Cristi!
Yay for giving it a try Bianca!
Great post. Super cute blogger. Glad you’ve added Cristi to the How Does She family. Can’t wait to see more her style looks right up my alley.
Also, just check out her blog and found out about Proof Wooden sunglasses. Very good stuff on the blog and love the style. You need to post more pictures I’m ready for more!!
Thanks for you kind words! Love the Proof wooden sunglasses- they are a must have. -Cristi
My sister (Rachel) just showed me your post. Love it. I gotta find a hair piece like that. Love it. Which Etsy shop did you get it from?
Looking forward to more.
I will get you that etsy info…I actually got it as a gift so I am going to find out and let you know!
Darling post cristi! I love both looks. So fun to see you on howdoesshe.
Thanks Mindy!! It’s is fun to be here!
Cool post. Welcome to the Club Cristi.
Thanks Jessica!
Red lipstick… that’s… YIKES! I don’t know if I’m brave enough for that. I’m so incredibly, ridiculously pale that I’ve yet to find a red that actually works.
But, welcome aboard, Cristi, I’m new here, too.
I should try the bright lipstick for a date…would SHOCK the hubs;)
Very Cool I need to figure this one out. I always spend too much time getting ready to go out.
So this is a great idea of how to dress down and dress up. like it.
