Colored jeans and three ways to wear them

One of my favorite trends this season is colored jeans. Call me crazy, but there’s just something about wearing a bright pop of yellow, cobalt or red on your legs that just adds a little extra pep in your step. I can’t tell you though, how many times I’ve gone shopping with a girlfriend and have professed my love for a pair of colored jeans on a mannequin, only to have her give me the crazy eye. But I’m tellin’ you, these pop-of-color pants are highly wearable and versatile! And here’s three pics to prove it. {At least with the red kind. Yellow and cobalt are on my Christmas list.}

1. Pair your colored jeans with similar shades. Here, I mixed warm tones together: an orangey-red top, a brown fur vest, red jeans and orange shoes. When working with similar color tones, various patterns and textures paired together keep the outfit fun and interesting!

2. Color block three different colors. Here, I worked with primary colors, but you can pull off this look with pretty much anything. Some of my favorite color combinations for the season are jewel tones. Again, pattern mixing keeps it interesting!

3. Incorporate the color of your pants into the smaller details of your outfit. Here, I used a broach to accent the red in my pants, but you could use any accessory. Think: a bright clutch, a chunky necklace, some colored bangles or a skinny belt.
