Bring on the Holiday Drama…

Holiday Fashion

Hello ladies! It is officially December and you know what that means- the holiday parties are here and in full swing! I love any excuse to bring some drama into my life… with my makeup that is. But with all the hustle and bustle- who really has the time to spend hours getting ready?  So, I decided to ask a makeup expert Camilla Orosco to  show us how to get the glamour without too much fuss. So, let’s get started.

Step 1:  Apply your foundation/powder and light application of blush…the key to not looking overdone is to keep a fresh face.

Step 2:  Powder your eyelids with your base color or use a nude shadow.

Step 3:  Use a liquid liner (we used Mirabella Magic Marker) to create a dramatic cat-eye.  Follow the natural line of your lash line to start the line, use small strokes to build on the shape.

Step 4:  Use an angle brush and a coal colored shadow to soften the line and blend upward on upper and lower lid.

Step 5:  Lightly powder your lips and apply your fave red holiday shade  (we used Mirabella in Red Velvet). Start from the middle of your lips and work outward.

Step 6: Pull your hair up out of your face into a loose updo- to see a video tutorial on this easy updo go here.

and finally- step 7:  Find a fabulous holiday dress and sparkly shoes and get your holiday groove on!!

You look beautiful! Quick question . . .

My husband’s work party is cocktail attire. What does that mean? Should I wear a semi formal dress or nice sweater and a skirt. Help! I am a stay at home mom of three toddlers getting dressed up to me is wearing a nice pair of jeans and a clean shirt =)

      Monica-
THREE TODDLERS!!! I hope you have a babysitter and get to dress up with a night out with your hubby!

Cocktail attire can mean different things depending on what part of the country you are in…but it usually a perfect time to wear something a bit more trendy and dressier than your average day. But you don’t have to wear a long formal gown like you would at a “black tie” event.

If I had to choose something to wear for a cocktail event in the winter- it would be a simple dress just above the knee with cute bright tights and some sexy heels! Don’t forget a cute peacoat for when you go outside!
