Backyard DREAM!

I am officially ready for summer! Thanks to Sam’s Club.
I have been wanting a play set for my backyard ever since I had my first baby so when I got the opportunity to review this play set, I jumped on it…and up and down…and may have thrown my arms in the air….and let a out a few screams of excitement. My husband did not have quite the same reaction, especially when he saw the time involved for the set up. But after one day of seeing how excited my two older boys were to set the whole thing up and how they woke up early to finish their piano practice and chores just so they could get out and start building….he changed his mind. We were both astounded at how dedicated they were to this project. We tried to set it all up over the long Memorial Day weekend so we worked on it from early morning until late at night and the boys NEVER got bored or lost interest. It was fun to see them so excited about something and see how great their attention span really is when involved in something they love….which apparently is building stuff. I guess all those lego sets were coming to life for them! So yes, it does take a lot of time – but that time spent together building was invaluable. Here are some shots of the process…
We worked on it until we couldn’t see anymore. The kids wanted to sleep in it, each kid on a floor – it does have three of them. 
They had so much fun climbing all around it and exploring all its fun playing functions: rock wall, swings…
look out, steering wheel, slide, picnic table…
and more of the same but with the added bonus of a water fight fort! My two year old’s newest obsession…spray bottles. He chased us and cooled us down as we worked.
He can climb all the way to the top by himself with the easy ladders. It is completely enclosed everywhere other than the two openings for the rock wall and slide so I don’t worry about him falling out.
Even my 11 year old is excited for its new creative possibility, a reading fort!

These are absolutely fab pics that make me want to climb on that play set, and I’m really old! What an amazing thing to have in your backyard for the kids!
