8 Bright Revamping Ideas
Hi, HowDoesShe Fans!
So glad you stopped in! You must be ready for some creative inspiration, am I right? How about some IShare inspiration? I love gleaning all the knowledge and crafty expertise I can from your amazing submissions, and there have been so many GREAT ones in the past couple of weeks. I found so many, it was difficult to decide on which ones to share!
If you are anything like me, you’ve found it necessary to cut back here and there, and adopt the three “r”s – Reduce, reuse, recycle. I want to add ONE more to that list: Revamp! There is something SO satisfying about taking something old and revamping it into something stylish, sweet, and sassy! Oh, and having total bragging rights, too. Let’s get started breathing some new life into some old!
I immediately fell in love with this idea for an iPod touch case submitted by Madigan Made. There are SO MANY cute photo albums out there (probably sitting on your shelf, or in a box) that you can transform into something sweet AND useful. I’m thinking – gift idea! In fact, I’ve got a houndstooth album calling my name right now!
ModPodge Amy shows us how to create this adorable cake stand from things we all have lying around the house! Create a treat stand that is 100% unique and YOU!

“Room Remix” shared this awesome idea for revamping a couple of old chairs into a sleek mudroom bench! Best part? She shows how to do it so that you can still re-use the chairs later! So smart.
4. Vintage Book Turned Planter
Transform an old book (from your shelf, or the goodwill store) into a unique planter. This is so fun and the possibilities are really endless. So vintage-chic – it will work in nearly any space! This is a must see. Thanks for submitting, Lindy!!
This is a simple way to make baskets or tubs that coordinate with any room. Infarrantly Creative shows us how to make custom fabric liners. This is something even *I* could do! How fun to make liners for baskets in the bathroom, or for tubs that hold your kids toys? So many ideas…
That says “PRETTY”-fied, not “petrified”. Although, I thought it looked a little challenging so I was feeling a little petrified. Until I checked out Ja Girl’s tutorial. Easy peasy, folks! How cute to dress up an old lamp and bring it back to life! Ooooh, you could use the same fabric as your basket liner. Okay, I need to take a deep breath before the creative part of my brain burns out.
These little airplanes made from left over candy wouldn’t be complete without the adorable sign printable to add to it. These are cute for any occasion, but especially sweet for Valentines day! (Yes, it’s not very far away!) A great submission, Givers Log!
These eggs are definitely being served in STYLE! Who knew there were ways to revamp EGGS?! Making Memories shared this fun idea and had me literally giggling like a little girl.
There are so MANY bright ideas for revamping something old into something FABULOUS! I know you’re brain is working right now and you’ve got some ideas to share. I hope you do! It is very exciting to create something of beauty with little to no price tag. We are smart, talented, and doggone it, our creations are AWESOME! Don’t hide that craft under a bushel – submit it to one of our IShare sites and let that light so shine!
We’ll see you (and your ideas) soon! Snuggle up with one you love and let your imaginations roll. Stay smiling, and stay warm!

Hey, that bench chair would be terrific on a front porch.
I love looking at all of these!! One of these days I’m going to have to attempt some of these! Right now, I’m still WAY too far off of being able to decorate my house even remotely close to the caliber of ya’ll!! Someday…
Just purchased the egg molds for an upcoming baby shower I am hosting. I plan to use the star shape for deviled eggs. Hope it works. Amazon had them for $1.30 for two molds!
Thanks so much for highlighting my bench! Love the color of that prettified lamp – just puts a smile on my face.
Hi! I LOVE your site! I just found it. I have a question about your 8 bright revamping ideas post. I am having difficulties accessing the tutorial for the prettified lamp shade. Is there a link you could send me where I could find it? The link that is attached to that post isn’t opening. My email address is: amandattodd@gmail.com. Thank you SO much!! Amanda Todd
